My abscence and likely continued abscence....
My abscence and likely continued abscence....
To one and all on these boards and especially those in the "Invictus" game; I wanted to say my deepest apologies for my long abscence between posts.
My wife and I have recently brought home our first child; she had been born quite prematurely and so we were spending a lot of time in the hospital. She is now home and is doing quite well!
However; my time is not what it once was and I'm sorry to say that I'll have to step away from the game for a while; possibly a month or two. I'm planning on PMing Nick and Dugan to see exactly what they'd like to do; but I wanted to say that I'm truly sorry for the abscence and that it's been a true pleasure to have had you all as players!
I promise to come back to the site as soon as I can and in whatever capacity (running a game; playing in one, or just observing) I can. I sincerley hope I've done a half-way decent job in providing a fun mission and story in the same vein as Nick and Dugan.
Thanks again;
Max

Hey, na worries boss. Real life takes precedence, and seriously, MAJOR CONGRATS on your child! No-one here's gonna blame you for stepping out for a while, it's been a pleasure gaming with you and I wish you the best of luck.

Yeah congratulations is in order and I'm glad your baby and wife are doing well. As for the game don't worry about that and concentrate on the important things.
Re: My abscence and likely continued abscence....
Hey, congrats man! Now you can look forward to sleepless nights to feed every few hours for the next six months!
All sarcasm aside, congratulations on your kid. They may be irritating at times, but they are wonders at a younger age.
Otherwise, do we have another GM that's willing to step up?

I say we put the GM position to a vote. I say Dugan.

Sorry people I can't do it, I'm too busy with work and other commitments plus I'm not creative enough to run it.

hmmm.... Who wants to do it? Quinn?
Re: My abscence and likely continued abscence....
As much as I would like to, I would have to get a firmer grasp on the rules before I even attempted it.
Nick, you still busy these days?

Yeah rather busy.
I will naturally take the torch if no one else does, letting the game (and our little awesome community!) die will not be an alternative for the forseeable future. As long as people hang around and we have a trickle of new members on the site replacing those going away this site stays alive.
But you will do an excellent job as GM quinn I am sure! Dugan and me are around to help you with the rules - Which are admittedly tricky to get into at first but rather logical and easy once understood. Sit down, read, run a few mockup battles and then you will get the ropes as the game progresses. The main advantage is that you don't have to sit around and fiddle with rulesbooks while people are sighing and slowly falls asleep in your couch. If it takes ten minutes to find a rule no harm is done.
Good luck Quinn and best wishes Maxvale76!
