M1T22 Final turn

Post by Nick » Thu Feb 05, 2009 11:36 am

2179 AD 15 September
Location: Sol system, Gateway Station, U.S.S Fidanza

Darkness. Warm, enveloping darkness. A soft humming sound, at first distant then more present. The warmth swept away by a chill draft and the darkness was replaced by a white light, so strong that the eyelids could not hold it out. The Marines opened their eyes slowly, looking around. The other sleeping tubes opened their lids all around and slightly desoriented Marines rose from their pods.

The floor was freezing cold and it felt wholly unpleasant to set their feet down. The Marines had a slight hung-over, typical of hypersleep and not very far from the hung-over most of them would have tomorrow after todays debriefing at Gateway station.

The hypersleep pods where Lt Andersson and the two Marines which had also followed along were empty. The Marines also noticed that their own Lt was missing from his pod.

>

OOC: Quick shower, dress up and then short breakfast at Gateway station. After that there is debriefing with Lt Anderson and then it is R&R. During the R&R intermission turn which will be in freeform and volunteer to participate in me and Dugan will calculate any experience gains. We will also add new players to the roster.

The next mission will start sometime late next week...and that one is going to be hairy.  ;D

Kurosaki awoke, shaking his head to shake the disorientation. He stood out of his 'pod', wiping hypersleep fluid out of his eyes. He quickly changed into his dress uniform, which had his new Corporal stripes. He sat and watched the rest of the marines getting up.
He realized that it could have been anyone of them that could have been hit. They were all lucky. Kurosaki was certain that more would fall during the next mission.
He briefly wondered what was in the containers. It was not important. It was most likely drugs or a special medical report or something of that nature. No matter. It did not concern him.
"Second Squad! Get to it!" Kurosaki yelled, his throat raw.

Sixtus kept his eyes closed as his other senses told him what was going on. The sounds of the other Marines getting up and out, his nose smelling the recycled air of the Conestoga-class starship. Sitting up, he slowly opened his eyes so that they'd become used to the bright light. Swinging his legs over the side, he put his feet on the cold floor with a hiss of sucking in air upon contact.

He walked over the the digital readout and tapped a few buttons, bringing up the readout of the Marines during hypersleep. The medic had been very quiet since the operation, not really speaking.

Simovic climed out of his tube his head banging from dehydration caused by hyper sleep. He got up and made his way to a drinks dispenser bowing his head respectfully as he passed Silvanus' now empty cryo tube. He filled a glass full of water and gulped the liquid down as his head began to clear he mulled over the days proceedings. He walked over to the men who were still climbing out of their tubes "We have a debriefing with Lt. Anderson at 09:00 then at 13:00 a service will be held for Corporal Lazarus Silvanus for those who wish to show their last respects". Simoivc thought about the irony of the Corporals first name, no one would be raising him from the dead that was for sure.

Erik had only mild side effects from the hyper sleep, thanks to being moved from planet to station and back again many times as a kid. He decided he'd hang with his friend Morse, for the moment but later he'd try and get some range time at the combat simulator to keep up on his shooting skills. He marked the times down so he wouldn't miss the debrief or the funeral. He was new to the squad but he respected all the Marines around him.

Ishizawa slowly awoke as the sleeping pod opened up. He felt disoriented, and his head was killing him. As he stepped out, he cursed, nearly tripping getting out of the pod, but as soon as he stepped out on the cold floor, he felt chills running up his spine. Ishizawa hated the sleeping pods with a passion. He never did fully understand why they always made the Marines go into the pods. Sure, it did speed everything up, but he probably could have found a better use of his time instead of freezing his ass off.

He quickly went over to his locker and put on a pair of socks first, followed by a clean BDU, and finally his boots. Now fully dressed, Ishizawa closed his locker and went over to the fountain, drinking down the water for awhile, before heading over to Mongo and Roberts.

"Sleep well guys?"

patch caressed her inner thighs they were smooth warm and inviting. he continued to place small delicate kisses on her..... "second squad get to it".....patch awoke with a start....he was completely confused...were the hell did she go? he sat up looked around..."crap" he said it out loud as well as thought it, "every god damn time " he muttered.
patch sat in his pod until he wasn't at attention, so to speak, then got up and showered...cold just for good measure, then dressed and headed for food.

"ah coffee",he said as he smelled the delicious aroma, "thank god for coffee."

Morse woke up, and got up rather quickly. He always had been the type to get moving quickly, of course moments later the hang over caught up with him. As he hit the floor of the room he felt the stinging cold of the tile. God Dang, thats some cold cobble stone. Morse said quickly. He grabbed his cloths and put on the lightgray overcoat which matched the color of the shirt they had, as he easily got cold. His stinging headache didn't subside, but he got headaches fairly often so it wasn't a problem, nothin a little homebrew "medicine" couldn't fix. He saw Eric, standin lookin like he was waitin for somethin.

Lets grab some food and brew. Morse said reffering to the meal and coffee, tilting his head beconing the colony bum to come with him.

Monks woke up with a big headache. Thinking of Silvanus and how he died was very disturbing. He was going to make sure he made it to the service. He didn't want to end up like him.

Awakening from cryo sleep Mongo took his time getting up and dressing.  Most of the other marines were up and moving around and he could hear them casually tossing around greetings and all he could feel inside was an emptiness.

It felt like someone had scooped out everything that he was and replaced it with...nothing.

Why the hell did he have to feel like this?  He bet none of the other guys were feeling this emptiness.  Maybe something was wrong with him?  Shaking his head at this thought Mongo pushed himself off the cryo pallet and headed to the shower.

Several minutes later he was dressed in BDU and was just doing up his boots when Ishizawa came up to him and Roberts asking how they slept.

"Yeah I slept well enough.  Not great but not bad either.  You handled yourself well when everything went to hell in a handbasket, Ishi, I'll have you at my back any time," said Octavius holding out his fist to Ishizawa.

The readouts verified that everyone made it through cryo safely. As usual, even through cryosleep, it seemed that the medic had grown a beard. Grumbling about it, he headed for the showers and began shaving it off.

"At least if we get assigned to a snow planet, I'll be in good shape." Sixtus muttered to himself. He knew that he had to pull himself together, as he was chief medical operator in the platoon. The rest of the troops depended on his calm demeanor. Hell, who was he kidding? The last two people he worked on died, and the one previous was a medical miracle, but living his days as a vegetable. Not a good track record at the moment...

Dirkl slowly opened his eyes and looked around. The ship. Takeing a deep breath he sat up and rubbed his eyes. Time to wake up.

Moving his feet over he jumped out of the tube onto the cold floor. All the tech to move from planet to planet and they still couldn't figure out how to make the damn floor not ice cold when they woke up.

He slowly crossed the room and moved into the showers, letting the fluid that had kept him alive while he slept wash off.

Once he was done and in his uniform he lit a cigaret and walked slowly to the chow hall for sone coffee and maybe a bite to eat.

Bumping Ishizawas fist back Mongo nodded acceptance at his squad mates words.

"Food sounds good right about now.  Lets get our chow on!" stated Mongo in a loud voice as he stood up and waited for Ishizawa to lead the way to the mess hall.

"Hey Ishi, you know what happened to the lady that I...we captured?  Plus anybody find out what was in those containers that the LT wanted us to grab?" he asked as they headed towards the mess.

Placing his feet on the floor, Jacob winced slightly.

Rising slowly he moved to his locker and got dressed.

Lighting a cigarette he stalked out of the room to the mess hall. Looking at (and smiling at) nobody. Those pods always left him in the foulest moods, the idea that people were forcing him to waste his life sleeping disgusted him.

Sitting in the canteen with a coffee he smoked and slouched sullenly against the wall.
