ALIENS: The Board Game

Post by Sam » Sat Jul 24, 2010 6:31 pm

Some of you might remember that while Leading Edge held the license for Aliens they produced, as well as the Adventure Game we currently use, a board game. It, like the Adventure Game, is long out of print, but someone has kindly turned it into a Flash game.

Basically everything about the game has been replicated, from the rules to the layout of the board to the incredible, mind-bending difficulty of "winning" the scenarios. Enjoy.

Yes, I've played the flash game literally HUNDREDS of times! I never owned the board game; and if you try to get it on e-bay, it regularly sells for well over a hundred bucks.

A couple of things I've noticed about the flash game....if you beat the 1st level with less than 5 guys, don't bother continuing to the 2nd level.....likewise, if you beat the 2nd Level with MORE than 6 guys (not including Newt); the last level is a MAJOR PAIN to beat.

The best I ever did in terms of total survivors (counting Newt and Burke) was 11; the best in terms of points I ever did was 129.

It is HIGHELY addicting! :)

Done and done. I'd been waiting to have my posting privileges updated, but as soon as I got word that they had, I dropped in and (hopefully) filled an insurrectionist full of holes.

I don't know what happened to my copy of the game. It vanished just like my copy of the Aliens Adventure Game. At least I now have a PDF copy of the latter to reference if/when I need to.

Ahhh good. I hadn't heard from either you or Casim in some time, was just hoping it wasn't me alone out there. There's only so much I can do and all that..! Was thinking if you didn't post I'd be looking pretty stupid right about now with one of those goonies at my side and two more in front.

It is highly addictive, I can't stop playing it. Even better the firewall at work is not blocking it. HAHA!
