Turn 11: Extreme Pressurization

Post by Corporal Hicks » Tue Jun 15, 2021 1:30 am

The wild-eyed man on the catwalk waved the hand cannon again almost as if he was drunk. "You did this to us didn't you?! This is all a government conspiracy. We are just guinea pigs to you mother fuckers!" The man was clearly effected by exposure to the bioweapon and going mad with paranoia. We waved the hand cannon again and this time it fired. The shot rung out and instantaneously a hole appeared in the foreword wall. The Marines never saw the hole, however. They only saw the jet of water, like the strength of ten firehoses. The startled civilian dropped the pistol which fell two stories to the deck before firing a second time. Another implosive hole appeared in the wall with more water blasting in. Already it was up to their waists. The only good news was that the infected Marines and the civilian cryotubes were already securely loaded onto the shuttles.

A panel burst off the wall and the room went dark. The Marines felt like they were being tossed under an enormous tidal wave. They no longer knew which direction was up or down. They were swept up in the terrific force of the ship's implosive compression. Under so many atmospheres of pressure, the air in the ship was replaced with pressurized water almost instantaneously. Gradually, the Marines regained their orientation. "Sykes here. Sound off, people."
The suited Marines looked around and saw that they had been scattered all around the room. A crushed and mutilated body lay in a row with them, apparently the crazed civilian.

(OOC: Again, sorry for the delay. I moved to a new house, had a birthday, went to Milwaukee for a baseball game, got in a car crash, then took a few days to get the internet working at the new place. Hopefully I can be a better GM in the next weeks.)

OOC man you take care of yourself!

Henniger had raised his carbine to fire, checked himself when the civilian did a Jerry Lewis with his pistol, and put two holes in the hull. No one heard his loud "FUCK" as he was kicked off his boots and into the near silence of the liquid world. He regained his feet, checked around him for threats, saw the obviously dead civilian, and loosened his grip on his weapon. Sykes called for accountability and he shook his helmeted head as sharply as he could.

"First SL ok. Suit's good."

<tag Sykes>

He toggled to the squad net,

"First, sound off on the platoon net if you're good to go. If you have problems ping me directly. Get me your suit status and ammo situation after you sound off to the Sergeant Major. Switch to infrared and pull security once you're squared away. Paulson get that tracker online once you're un-fucked."

He flipped his IR screen on, silently gave the suit a check mark in the 'pro' column for full view IR, cut the link and physically began trudging through the water to check on his Marines.

Paulson found himself on his ass slammed into a corner but all his systems read green,

" all green good to go "he reported, next motion was to sweep with the tracker but it was useless, the movement of the water plus all the contents of the ship being hurled round gave a multitude of false positives

"Tracker going crazy with all background movement, hopefully will settle in a few minuets" paulson commed in

Henniger frowned. He hadn't factored in the water movement. He commed Paulson over the squad net,

"All right, tracker offline. Davros tighten up on Paulson. Let's get frosty and get a perimeter started."

<tag Paulson/Davros>

He took a breath, the suit was past fatiguing and into the galaxy of torturous. He swallowed the headache and pushed through the water to his squad.

Samantha had watched the gun ‘accidentally’ fire once, then get dropped and go off again, and as the room immediately became an aquarium she sighed and managed to get out a fatalistic “well...shit”, before the water propelled her halfway across the room......

Getting her bearings, she managed to call out to her squad, “Second, this is Hall! Grisham, McKenna, Doc, sound off!”

Darren cursed as the wall of water crashed into him, sweeping him off his feet. He quickly reoriented himself with the floor and engaged the magnets built into the HARDSuit's boots to secure himself in place. Clicking his HUD onto IR mode looked around and was relieved to see the rest of the platoon has weathered the worse of the flood and didn't seem to have suffered any serious injuries.

The suits commlink crackled in his ear "Sykes here. Sound off, people."

then, a moment later, Halls voice came in over the squad net “Second, this is Hall! Grisham, McKenna, Doc, sound off!”

Darren quickly keyed his radio and responded "Doc here. I'm in one piece"

Davros swore to himself as the bullet holes in the ship began to spew water like a fire hose. He saw several marines smash into the deck from the water pressure. He tried his best to keep his feet but ended up on his knees as the boots came out from under him. Water rushed past his arms as he did his best to now hold onto his place on the floor. Keying on his mag boots he managed to get one foot under him, then the other. Leaning against the flow he did his best to keep upright as a loud screech came from the walls of the ship. The lights flickered a few times as monstrous groan came from the wall. A panel came flying past followed shortly by a wall of water. Davros knees screamed at him, the mag boots kept his feet on the floor but the water pulled his body along with the flow. The room was full of water and he was finally able to right himself.

"Sykes here. Sound off, people." was heard coming through the comm link. Followed shortly by "All right, tracker offline. Davros tighten up on Paulson. Let's get frosty and get a perimeter started."

The face shield showed black with human shaped blobs of reds and yellows at the IR mode engaged. A few of them were standing in the proper orientation, but others were still swirling in the flow of the water. One last one was quickly fading from yellow,to dark red, bluish, then last black as the water around them. It must have been the poor bastard with the pistol. The display showed that the suits pressure was holding. He thought "Thank god" As he keyed on his comms. "Red three standing by."wait....no Sykes already reprimanded him for that. "Davros still got all my bits sir." He couldn't resist getting a little cheeky. He hoped that the holds that the cryo-tubes were in held. He wasn't sure what he would be able to do if anything decided to come at him now that the room was filled with water. "Guess I gotta lob foul language at them and hope for the best." He thought to himself. "Chief getting these ships out of here might be all that we can do now, Guns are toast at this depth. Orders sir?"
