Sergeant Jonsson stepped back into the fridge. Her blonde hair cut short. She was a career marine with no thoughts of entering the civilian world. At 1.91 meters there was not too many jobs for a female her size. Had she been prim and dainty she probably could find plenty of jobs.
"Alright you bunch of jarheads quit the gabbing and get to moving. The LT wants us on the ground yesterday," her Contralto voice was full of bark and she had the teeth to back it as well. She benched over 136 kilograms three sets of ten daily.

OOC: Sergeant Jonsson's physical looks are based on the actress Gwendoline Christie. She plays Captain Phasma in the new Star Wars Movies and Brienne Teeth on A Game of Thrones. She is 6'3" (1.91 meters) and 168 lbs (76 kgs).

Perez enjoyed the chat with his squad members. He noticed activity from first squad. At least McKenna strolled by, Juan gave him a wink. Just as he was about to suggest to have a meal, the door opened and Sergeant Jonsson made her appearence. Not that there was the slightest chance to miss her. A tall, muscular woman with a voice like thunder.

Perez was slighty confused about the sudden need to rush. Maybe there was more about it than a comm failure ?

While going over to his locker to get into his uniform he asked her ....

"Hey Sarge, did the colony get their comms fixed up yet?"

Meanwhile he dressed up fully, approaching the sergeant

Dirk sat quietly watching the men and women of the eights eat and talk. Taking a sip of his coffee he closed his eyes for a moment allowing his mind to drift to his boat in Hawaii, the great surf, the sun and endless beeches. Even though it was always on his mind, he always felt more at home when he was deployed. He the avoided food. Not that he was still sick, he just didn't eat often. Hearing the sergeant call the platoon to orders he finished his coffee. Pulling another cigarette out of the pack he lit it.

"You heard the sergeant. First squad, get moving. I want you ready to hit the beech in twenty. Move out." He said, still not knowing all the people in his squad.

"Sergeant Jonsson? I'm corporal Pitt, first squad. Any information from the LT?"

Nicole heard the voice from the sarge and twiches a little bit. Jonsson was quite an impressing woman. And she wouldn´t find out how loud her voice could be.
Okay.. no shower now. She grabbed her Stuff and drank up her coffee. Maybe she could grab something to eat, too, before they started.

"No Corporal, the Comms are still silent. There has been no contact from them since we made it in system," she replied. She looked over at him a slight smile creased her lips, "Don't worry I am sure the Colonist's daughters and sons are waiting for us to save them!" She reached over and lightly punched his shoulder, "Go get ready and we will take of business!"

She continued to walk out but stopped when she heard the Corporal from the other squad's question.
"Corporal Pitt is it! The LT said she will give us a quick briefing before we make landfall. She has the most current intel to share. Make sure to get your squad saddled up and ready to roll. We will probably load up the Dropship as soon as she finishes," she stated. She continued on her way, See in a few Corporal.

... Juan replied a brief grin to Sergeant Jonsson and nodded approvingly ...

"Yes, Sir, will concentrate on the daughters, will leave sons to the sergeant, Sir."

... then he bashed away towards the weapons-storage-and-ready-room and will show up to the briefing in time.

Lest other orders, Perez spends the time 'till briefing with:
- grabbing his combat gear
- putting on the M56 combat harness
- perform a quick check on the smargun weapons system and the sidearm
- stowing his military energy drink, reserve ammo and batteries
- praying

Danny Sykes chugged the last of his coffee, burning his throat. "Okay ladies and gents, let's get locked and loaded! Don't worry, we'll get a chance to eat. Locked and loaded!" He hoped he was right about the grub.

It was time. Jacob had zoned out as more marines had appeared, but now he moved with purpose.

Checking equipment, making sure to honor the 5 Ps...proper preparation prevents piss poor performance. Everything was checked and double checked...and then they were off. No point dallying, if things were going to begin then let them begin!

First Lieutenant Hayden Knutson stood sipping a cup of coffee, waiting for his marines to assemble. Once they were all assembled in the hangar, he walked out to speak to them.

"OFFICER ON DECK" shouted Sergeant Jonsson.

After finishing preps Perez hurried back to the Hangar. He was almost late, but yet in-time. He joined the other marines, naturaly positioning himself close to second squad.

Nicole didn't eat and she was still hungry. She hoped the words from Skyes about breakfast would be correct. Fight was one thing, hungry fight was another thing.
Welcome to the marines, this thoughts came quite often to her, too often. Maybe the jail would have been the better choice, but now it was too late.

She grabbed and checked her gear and stood right with her squad thankfully that another private replied to the lieutenant.
"Stay slow, go fast, kill first, die last." She whispered the words she heard one thousand times in her training.

Turning, he walked quickly to the locker room. Getting his gear strapped on he looked for a moment at his K-bar and Colt 1911. Both were old, from the USMC that predated the USCM. When his father died they were passed on to him. Finishing gearing up he walked to the ready line and took charge of his squad.

"First squad, on me." He said loudly

Clint snagged some food and threw it in his pocket and picked up another handful and began chewing on his way back to get geared up and ready to be on the line. He checked his weaponry to make sure that everything was operational. The M41 pulse rifle seemed to be operating flawlessly and the ammo counter indicated a full magazine was ready. He pulled his knife which showed a fine sharp edge, Eight grenades packed neatly in their pouches ready for use. He flipped through his medical kit supplies to make sure he wasn't short on anything and to make sure that he knew where everything was in case he needed to pull supplies in the dark or without being able to look. His personal first aid kit was also in order.

The intelligence unit and field radio were in working order. He tried to update the intelligence unit with everything that the computer system had available on Hadley's Hope colony and Acheron (LV-426). As an afterthought he also instructed the computer to upload available information on the Sulaco in case it was out here somewhere. The supplies for his portable welder and electronic lockpick were all present and accounted for.

Pulling the intelligence unit and it's cables from the ship's computer, he stowed them in his backpack and threw the pack on his shoulders. Grabbing the rifle he made his way onto the line. "Private McKenna present and accounted for Coporal Pitt."

Earlier this day, Caleija, too, awoke from a slept which only could be measured in light years. She rose from her sleeping position and fell back again in her chilly bed. She had the feeling that an elephant was jumping up and down on her stomage. Perhaps, this urged her to leave the cryochamber several minutes earlier as she would have been able to otherwise.

Caleija had icy blue eyes and light blonde, nearly white, short hair - lucky that, regarding the time it took to clean up under the shower just afterwards the elephant had done its all-time record jump. She was of a rather slim figure, average height, but her body appeared to be a rather boyish one. In fact, at first sight she easily could be mistaken for a boy or a young man.

Of course, many hours of training had helped her to stand - or rather sway - where she stood now.
So she staggered, silently as usual, to her locker to get her clothes. Afterwards she was looking for the coffee and, as a bonus, perhaps breakfast.

She didn't get far. Before the cup had been drained to the half, they were called to duty, or to arms at least. Yet, without haste but with stoic routine she took her equipment and then she was ready to encounter the corporal and whatever the future may bring to her.

Dirk turned to the young medic and grinned."Welcome to first McKinna. You're the medic, right? With any luck we won't need you on this one."

Lighting another cigarette he then checked over his M-41A for the tenth time. "All this way in these damn freezers for a clusterfuck of a downed transmitter and an over due ship. More than likely the ship is off course and the synthetic hasn't managed to get it back yet." He said, not believing that nothing was going on.
