"She was debriefed declared unfit for flight duty. If that tells you anything." She looked around the room. If we have no further questions I suggest you folks get ready to roll out."

Nicole sat behind the two marines, who were talked about the wives in the colony. These guys knew how to treat a woman. She shook her head about this thoughts and grinned.
Welcome to the marines, Niki, went through her head.

Then she looked arround. This was her new family. She was the last Marine, who added to the eights and just finished her basic training a few days ago.

She had no questions so far. Honestly, Nicole was too excited to receive all this information.

"No questions, Ma´am."

Hmmm, maybe 57 years in hypersleep puts your brain through a mixer. Poor Ladie. I just hope, she did not have children or a husband. Must be hard enough to wake up and learn, that your parents have died. I just can't imagine,
how i must feel to see your little kid being an old Person now

... Juan felt compassion for this person, but stopped this kind of thoughts almost immediately. It was not his job to do so, his job was to check back on Archeron and this will require his attention and focusation ....

The Colonel asked for final questions, none came, so he stood up ...

"Ready to roll, Sir."

.... he answered, bumping his fists together. Although sceptical at first, he came to the same conclusion, this Ripley must be hallucinating. 57 years, you know. Surely this whole mission will go smooth and by the numbers. By the time, they arrive in orbit, the others would have repaired the comms array. Nothing to worry about. Better to get over this boring thing soon and get some serious action afterwards.

Sitting calmly and listening, Jacob nodded slowly. Others were asking questions so he didn't have to. He scratched his ginger stubble, soon he guess it would just be 'beard'.

Tapping his feet on the floor, he we never still. Full of nervous energy. His eyes never settled in one place for too long. There was far too much to take in.

Sykes laughed with the other guys when they talked about colony wives. Perez seemed like a nice guy, maybe he'd try to stick with him. Despite Danny's enthusiasm, he felt uncomfortable with the new people and setting and possibly going into very real danger. "What lady could resist guys like us?" he laughed again.

Juan stood next to Sykes. He gave him that kind of jockin smile. Then he look to the colonel, back to Sykes, back to the colonel and back to Sykes.

He whispered ...

"I am in with 10 bucs, if you test the resistance of the colonel after finishing Acheron."

... with that non-serious undertone. He took the opportunity to exchange a few words and practice the old habbit of warriors before battle. Do appointments for after the show, so that coming back and survive is a no-doubter.

He raised his fist and waited for Sykes to bump it for accepting the challenge.

Danny laughed quietly and glanced at the Colonel. He guessed it didn't hurt to accept. Ten bucks wasn't much anyways. He bumped Perez's fist.

Nicole was looking to the guys while they bumped fists. She didn't hear what they were talking about but the fists thing was interesting.
Meanwhile she thought about how she could involve herself into the group. Interpersonal behaviour was not her strong side.
