Unidentified Asteroid, near space trade lane, In vicinity of communications relay
Mission timer: 02.03.15

The electrical whirring sound stopped and for a few moments all was silent. Only the sound from the life support systems of the Marines suits could be heard. Then they were utterly blinded by a brilliant light coming from the far side of the room. The light was sharp as a neutron star on approach, the shadows cast where as sharp as a knife and pitch black.

Lt Ericson shielded her face and slowly the light dimmed down significantly. In the source of the previous blinding light, hovering just beyond the fossilized creature, were a holographic image. It showed a planetary system. The planets were moving slowly in their circular pattern around the sun. Each planet had cuniform writing hovering next to them, Lt Ericson guessed their purpose as names of the planets.

"Ok people spread out, make sure we get this recorded on our shoulder cams...this is important" Lt Ericson said, her eyes glued to the image.

The holographic video lasted for less than ten minutes, but in those ten minutes they had been shown two different star systems. Each inihabited by strange creatures, one of which were quite similar to the one seated next to them. The race resembling the large pilot next to them seemed to be a nomadic race where as the other snot nosed race were a building race. For some reason, explained in cuniform, they went to war. But not themselves, as both races through the eons had been more or less stationary - Forever bound in command centers, merged to them physically. The snot nosed ones instead used bio mechanical warriors, very similar to these just encountered - An ant like parasitic race capable of laying ruin to whole systems of the large pilot creatures in mere months. The large pilot creatures had been loosing on the holographic video, in desperation they searched the universe and came across a blue planet. This planet was inhibited by a fierce primitive bipedal humanoid form with sloping foreheads and stout jaws. These cave men had been genetically modified. From cave men to civilization building humans in the stroke of a few thousand years. They were tought writing and the knowledge of the stars. Familiar images of pyramids and mayan calendars flickered past. The pilot race had been too late however, the scourge of the alien creatures were to fast and too quick. And their project on earth were left to fend for itself as they fled to hide in asteroid belts all over the galaxy. But the snot nosed hunted them down one after the other. This was the last outpost.

Then the video went out and it became pitch black, only the shoulder lights relieved some of the darkness that welled in on them from all sides.

After a long and unbearable silence, Rascal was the first to speak; "So, the Big Guy in the Sky is really a bunch of elephant coach potatoes? There goes my week."

He shook his head. The knowledge just bestowed upon these few marines was far too consequential for them to handle, let alone reveal to anyone outside of themselves. "Do you guys realize what this means? This could change everything. No, it will change everything." he muttered somberly, drawing his gaze across the helms of his comrades. His mind whirled with all the impossible revelations.

"We really can't tell anyone this, right Lieutenant? I mean, we'd be responsible for a system wide uproar---" he continued to yammer aloud, very aware that the others were still processing the information, to engrossed in the details of their minds to pay attention to one fretting rookie. He sighed and paused, whispering "Now i gotta re-read Chariots of the Gods. Damnit, such a buzzkill."

Obi maintained his position by the door, growing annoyed by the minute.
Those fucking things are still running around and our fucking LT is acting like we are on a school excursion to the Scicence Museum.

Obi growled and sore under his breath. Keying his comm he spoke in a no nonsense tone.
While I agree this is all fascinating and would love to debate the origins of the Earth and how this discovery is going effect humanities perceived historical views on social and religious beliefs, but we got marines down, and those fucking things are still running around in here. Just making a point."

Quinn shook his head at Obi's annoyance after he had recovered from the sense of awe he had.

"That's true Obi, but this is THE discovery of the millennia." he said quietly. He made sure his helmet had recorded it, then saved multiple copies to the drive in his suit. He would send them out as soon as he could. His family would freak out at this knowledge, and he was fairly sure his father would suffer a coronary knowing that his son had been a part of the discovery. "This information alone would invalidate several religions, but it would answer so many questions. Namely, why are we here? With this information, this is our purpose of a sort, to annihilate these creatures."

Quinn checked his weapon over, then looked up at the large creature.

"And I for one don't mind that one bit."

Maintaining his position, Obi sighed, nerves on edge as he listened to the medic.
"This information alone would invalidate several religions, but it would answer so many questions. Namely, why are we here? With this information, this is our purpose of a sort, to annihilate these creatures
" I am aware of that mate, but lets get on with the job. If our purpose is to wipe these things out, then lets do it. The longer we stand here staring like a dumbstuck highschool girl who has just seen her first wang, the more time it is giving those things to regroup and reassess. We all know how intelligent they are." Obi paused before continuing in a quieter subdued voice.

"Lets just get it over with before we lose any more marines."

Hmph, he has a point. Quinn thought to himself as he mentally shook himself. Marine first, scientist second.

"Good point. Alright First, start looking for a way out of here. This information won't do us any good down in this hellhole." his voice snapped back into the authoritative monotone he used when under stress.

"Ok, saddle up people. We're still in the thick of things here! We need a plan and we need it now." Lt Ericsson Said.

I have to be in over my head... I have to be...

Joe's mind began racing again. This... this... all of this was just too much. He'd managed to get into combat on his first outing, lose Marines, save Marines, freeze up, and now they apparently had found something that would turn everyone on their heads.

He steeled himself in his suit and could only turn the ECS in the suit to a colder temperature as he couldn't stop sweating from his body being elevated at all these prospects.

"Fight our way out? But we have no clue how to get out of this thing. If these guys use like spaceships and shit they have to be able to have computers or something. Maybe we can get a layout on the screen. Obviously the damn thing knows what we are since it scanned us or whatever."

God I could really use a cigarette...

Dirk's mind spun with the new information. God knows what these things had done to the human race, but whatever it was it seemed clear that they had intended for humans to fight the Xenos from the start.

"Well, we can't go back the way we came. That's for damn sure. As for the computer system goes, even if we could get it going, we wouldn't be ably to read what it told us, but it's still worth a try if a com-tech wants to give it a shot. Maybe one of our computers can talk to this. We have two doors here. One goes back to the pit and the other, I have no idea. I think we should move on, and quick. If we can get the door open that is." Dirk said

"I'm on it Sarge." Obi said as he moved away from his position and made his way quickly towards the alien console. Slinging his M-41, Obi stood in front of the console and studied it attentively.

"There does not appear to be any interface ports." Obi said as he ran his fingers around the edge only to feel a smooth surface.

"Im guessing it has some sort of neural connection, by the looks of the layout and the way this dude is strapped in, the chair could be the direct interface. Which sucks for us if it is. Or it could be touch screen. I guess there is only one way to find out. Here goes." Obi said as his index finger tapped at the screen. Waiting for what seemed like an eternity, Obi grew disappointed with not a response from the screen. Tapping it again, his disappointment gave way to excitement as the console changed.

Obi called out excitedly over the comm. "Hey! I got a response! Not to sure yet, but it looks like the system is running a boot up or config change."

(What am I seeing GM?)

Samantha kept an alert eye out; keeping her Pulse Rifle at the lookout; while at the same time occasionally throwing a nervous glance over towards her squad mate.

"Careful Obi; remember these are alien systems were fooling around with here..."; she said with a worried voice. She kinda liked the crazy Australian....
