Mission timer: 02.02.15
Lt Ericson ignored the request as she moved the last few meters up to the creature. She saw a small black eye glistening in what had to be the head of the creature. She didn't know what to think or how to feel. As far as she knew she was the first human to witness this, despite the countless of worlds visited by humanity so far. The most intelligent life form they had encountered prior to this one were the spindly creatures, which simply went under the name xenos or aliens."Ma'am, is there anything here that can help us get the hell out of here?"
The screen that hovered in front of the creature flickered with information, wierd signs that looked like cuniform script flickered past.
The eye sockets were emtpy, dryed out. "What are you?" Lt Ericson asked with her external speaker on not expecting an answer.
The creature was fossilized, but the screen reacted to her voice it seemed. A picture of a blue planet appeared, it was similar to Earth.
The earth picture was replaced by a star sign she didn't recoqnize, then another planet, brown and hazy flickered past. Huge grotesque buildings rose like thornes through the thick brown mist of the planet. Then the blue planet returned, caves dug in sandstone, more cuniform writing and lastly a picture of a human.
Lt Ericson was awestruck. What to make out of all this? She moved closer to get a better angle on the screen. In the process she tripped an invisible light beam. The screen turned from blue to red and with a bang two large doors slammed the control room shut. Moments later the lights went off and it went pitch black.
The marines turned on their lights. "Ok, set up a defensive perimeter near one of the doors!" Lt Ericson shouted.
Faintly the sound of an electrical motor started whirring somewhere on the other side of the room.
