I was wondering if we could have a standard list of pro-words to describe our actions, such as for movement or shooting.

For example:

- precise, well aimed shot.

- quickly aimed shot,

- a weapon fired fast, say from the hip, not aimed, character just using quick reflex.

Cheers

I'd like to see a bit more of the combat described though it'd mean more work for you Nick.  :o

For instance describe what happens to peoples shots and who hits and misses etc.

Hey Nick, I noticed the new post and WOW. I gotta say, it was a great read. Lots of detail, especially on what everyone was doing! Great job, keep it up!

Top notch on the new post!  Very detailed.  Both the map and the written descriptions!

Do we have a standard list of words for actions?

Such as when we roll for perception, awarness or melee?

How about a boot camp? One of the seniors can run it if you don't got any time.

I think we should re open boot camp as well. There are a lot of guys that join this site that are sittin waitin for there opertunity. I remember when i came here the only reason i stayed was because i was able to do stuff on the boot camp. So maybe we should open that back up.

Also access to the armory again, like i said. See i noticed that there are a certain amount of weapons we can't use as listed (ex. SADAR). Maybe if we had access to those weapons we don't it might add to it. Course thats just me, and i already told you want i'm lookin for.

Thats all i got to say really

Trouble is we need someone who is willing to run bootcamp, I don't have the time and I don't think Nick has either. Dirk ran it before but I don't know if wants to now?

And a problem with the armory is that the rules that Nick is using doesn't support the heavier weapons, and thus doesn't have the rules.

Yeah thats a case of adapting the rules to suit, which again means Nick or someone else needs to find the time to do it, or getting hold of the Phoenix Command Small Arms Combat System expansion book, which is very rare.

Someone has created a website for Phoenix Command in which they talk about how to create new weapon stats and also have an online weapon creator application, but its quite indepth and needs someone to sit and go through it comparing it to the weapons in the existing rules book, so the new weapons are balanced properly.

I think come next mission Nick is going to introduce the modified M41A E2 Pulse Rifle (plus maybe a few other weapons?), in the mean time he can just say our platoon is having supply problems and isn't getting the new kit. Which is very much a reality of modern fighting forces especially US Marines who historically got issued old junk compared to the US Army.

Thanks for the compliments guys, makes it worthwhile.

Regarding boot camp I am a bit sceptical, there is the appearant risk of meta gaming and the boot camp running out of synch with the main campaign. However if someone is really, really interested running the show I might re-consider. With some emphasis on might.

Since there is so much interest for new weapons I will try and acquire the phoenix command weapons book - The Aliens Adventure Game uses tables for damage and penetration rolls so there is quite much work involved making custom weapons as well.

If I do acquire the book You will not come away from the fact that the M41A is the standard issue assault rifle and the M39 is the standard issue sub machinegun. You will still be issued these weapons, with few exceptions.

Just like soldiers of today has little to say in which weapons their government decides to buy for them...

Well regarding the Boot Camp, i ran it for about a day with Erika before it was shut down a believe. I could give it another try. I'd probably run it fairly similar to the way the campaigns run, but i could try it again.

That's cool, I just want some special grenade stuff. Like those canister rounds I'm so fond of.
