Once the xenos started pouring out of the shaft, Sixtus let loose into their entrance with several sustained bursts from his SMG. The tide was getting too far in, as Marreno and Lippa found out. Kurosaki was closer to them, dragging Lippa behind cover, which gave Quinn the opportunity to fire at his comrade's attacker.

When the order came down to detonate the charges, Sixtus fished out the detonator and crouched behind the boxes. Flipping the cap, he bellowed "FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!!" and pressed his button the same time Kurosaki did.

Combined with the noise of the howling wind and the thunderous roar of the Dropships' engines as it circled over head, Obi could barely hear his radio as he maintained his position on the LZ.  Between bursts of gunfire, explosions and shouting, he tried to make sense of the chaos that was occuring inside the dome, knowing only to well that those things had attacked with a vengence.  Come guys, get out of there.  He urged them, hoping that the platoon would be able to extract with no further casualties.

[Tyler Ishizawa]

After throwing the grenade at the shaft, Ishizawa briefly took cover behind the crates as it exploded. With sweat pouring down his face, he furiously clawed at his mag pouch, taking out a fresh clip and jamming it into his pulse rifle, seeing the counter light up once again with a red "95".

Standing back up, Ishizawa flipped the selector on his rifle to burst fire. With the stock tightly pressed back into his shoulder, Ishizawa brought the nearest creature into his sights and pulled the trigger firing short bursts at the creature before moving onto more of the oncoming creatures.

the det charges exploded with a thundering roar, screams,shrieks and all manner of animal like howls came up the shaft as untold numbers perished or were at least injured. patch smiled as he fired off another few bursts at the visible creatures ahead.



"pull back now sarge?" patch queried hoping he did not to too scared or too eager to get the hell out. " by squads?"
