Aliens Colonial Marines Birthday Airsoft Game?

So I'm turning 40 in three years and was thinking that I would hold an Aliens Colonial Marines themed airsoft game. So what I'm thinking is that I will build everything myself over the next three years.

I've started attempting to build the pulse rifle but I'd be lying if I said it's moving at all.

Does anybody have any suggestions about ways I can build this stuff cheaply?

I found a YouTube Video that builds one that works for around $150.
Colonial Marine Pulse Rifle from Airsoft Parts.
You maybe able to build it cheaper by shopping around for the parts.

I found this website as well which has a whole bunch of tutorials.

http://www.m41a.com/

My main issue is I'm really, really lazy. I figure I'm going to try and make the prototypes out of wood and then when I've got a feel for it try and print out the parts on a cheap 3d printer, or get them custom printed if possible but there are some issues with firearms laws over here so I've got to look into it a bit further than I already have.

There was also a Pinterest post about converting a Nerf Gun.

Actually found an Airsoft M41A at a gameshop for 80 bucks. A very painful temptation to not take up. Fortunately I'm more of a smartgun guy.

I want to build one of those as well, if I can get my hands on the plans for one. It's just a MG34 with a bunch of stuff added on right?

That looks awesome! Ok I definitely need to get another revenue stream to be able to afford this stuff.

I'll try and post up some pics if I get started on this next week.

iirc you can buy a M41A kit to convert an Tompson A1 airsoft gun.

Exactly what they did in the movies really, lol. Wasn't all that expensive either.

Yeah I've found a few it's just now a matter of getting my hands on some and building them.

Kind of hoping I can figure out how to manufacture them so I can mass produce them, because I'm going to need a butt load of them for my birthday idea to work.

I need to actually sit down this weekend and figure out how much gear and weapons I have to provide for everybody. This is starting to look like a headache in the making!

I'm still working on this but it's slow going. I'm going to start updating every week starting next week with how things are progressing. I'm still thinking about how I'm going to approach this, whether we are going to remake the movie or just be inspired by the movie. I'm thinking just to take the movie as an inspiration which allows me to create scenarios that aren't canon specific.

Feel free to offer suggestions or comments!

Only took me 2 weeks to reply!

So lets get this show on the road!

First things first, time to come up with a plan of action. So my original plan was to start off building the pulse rifle, mainly because it's the most complicated and probably expensive piece to create. However every time I think about getting started I get lazy and start creating excuses about why I shouldn't do it. Most of those excuses revolve around not doing it because I'm lazy.

But it's time to grab my balls and start actually putting in some work on this son of a gun. After some research I've found some sites that have the gun in kits, but they are a bit more than I want to spend and most aren't fully automatic or don't have a functioning bullet counter or some other problem.

I've never done anything like this so I'll try and keep track of everything in pictures as I go along.

Also I should mention all of you guys are invited to come and join me in August 2019 in New Zealand to be part of this historic moment! I can't pay anybodies airfare but should be able to sort out accomodation and food for you guys while you are here, and I will provide all the gear, once I've figured out how to build it all properly!

Let me know if you are interested and we can start planning for this mission of awesomeness!

So after some more research I've decided that I'm going to need a firearms builder licence if I'm going to build the guns in bulk quantities. For the initial prototype I'm going to use some PVC board that this guy used in his build. Trying to get hold of his plans as well but that will take me a while. I'm going to have to learn how to use CAD because my current plan is to buy a 3D printer next year and start using that to build various parts, but for now I'll just create cheap prototypes and worry about making a production line a bit further down the track.

Thats it for now. Next week we start the build!
