It does sound awesome, but it could really turn out complete crap! Either way I should have fun, although probably not so much if things turn to crap.

I will have some free time this weekend so I will get started on the prototype gun then and post up some pics. For now I've got my hands on the Technical Manual and I'm reading through it and figuring out ways to take advantage of everything there!

No luck with any actual making of anything gun related for the last couple of weeks. Will try again this weekend seeing as I potentially don't have anything happening but it has been real hit or miss lately.

So managed to actually start making a wooden model last weekend. It did not go well at all. I did learn some stuff though and have a better idea of what I did wrong.

Disregard the above post tried to do some spoiler posting. I haven't done much with the gun apart from the wooden prototype, which did not work out so well. Currently trying to learn how to use CAD to draw up the plans for the gun but I'm not very artistic at all so it isn't going well.

I'm currently learning how to make armour as well so I'm kind of drawn in a bunch of directions at the moment and it's not really doing a lot for my productivity.

Ok I'm going to focus my efforts and get this gun prototype finished so I can move onto the sniper rifle. I'll post here tomorrow with an update on my work.

Hahaha I'm full of lies! Sadly I only have my wife's phone to take photos and she always has it on her and I forget to tell her to take photos of the stuff I've done.

Plus my attempts so far have been pretty damn awful. I am a terrible wood worker.

To be honest though I'm probably wasting my time trying to make a wooden mock up. I should just wait till I can afford a cheap 3d printer and use that because I really want to set up a production line so I can I churn this stuff out rather than make one offs.

As for the actual planning for the event itself does anybody have any suggestions for how I should hold the event itself? What I'm thinking is to have one large all day event which will start around 10am and which will simulate the Aliens movie itself. So there will be the landing, then clearing the location, then fighting off the aliens, then retreating to the ship and finally a big ass boss battle!

Or at least that's how I imagine it going anyway.

Yeah I'm thinking I'll hire a bunch of actors to do that. Probably need about 20 or 30 people for the aliens and another 10 or so people for support staff. I'm slowly trying to learn AutoCAD but I have no idea what the hell I'm doing!
