I have hope that now that FOX has been made aware of them, they'll green light the project.

The founder Ridley Scott has failed us with Prometheus, especially by saying he doesn't want to have them in the sequel. He's practically going full George Lucas on us.

James Cameron is busy with other things, and will probably die just after the Avatars are done, so no hope there.

And, though the Colonial Marines game was horrible, they do present Hicks as having survived, so perhaps there's hope. I don't think Michael Biehn is doing anything really anyway and he'd probably love to jump on it.

I've talked to Michael Biehn on facebook. It seems like he spends most of his time making cheap horror flicks with his wife.

I liked Colonial Marines. In the last few years two or three games have come out with nothing going for them except Aliens nostalgia, and they all have Aliens 3 and 4 not happening. This is encouraging to me. And whenever someone acts like I'm the only Aliens fan, I say they're coming out with video games for exclusively nostalgic purposes, so there has to be a market for it.

I don't suppose I have to say that Corporal Hicks was always my favorite character... lol. Killing him off was unforgivable.

I don't trust Ridley Scott either. Alien 1 was good, but it was a horror/suspense flick. I like action movies and marines. Not to mention it was 1979...

Colonial Marines scratches my Marines itch. I always liked the ruthlessness and sheer amount of death. - But I didn't like the blatant "WEY-YU is Satan inc." on top of three man squads that don't help you ever make things feel pointless. - Best mission is the one where you don't have a gun - there's something basically wrong with that.

And I like Alien 3, it might actually be my favorite. I know it sounds crazy but it had very human characters, and fleshed out the aliens universe a lot. I thought it was cool. I just want Resurrection ignored...... cus f&$% that.......

Alien 3 was a great movie. But why did it have to be Ripley? She didn't even act the same as in the other ones. The only reason was to put Sigourney Weaver's name on it.

Well she was the series main character, she had to be in it. - But she also demanded the studio kill her character cus she was tired of the movies.

Originally they were gonna have Hicks take over as the main character and it was gonna be them hunting aliens (basically unused plot was stolen by Dead Space 3 if you've ever played it.). But the studio wanted to maintain focus of Ripley like it'd always been and take a step back to the original (and extremely successful) horror sci fi that it originally was.

This wiki covers the original script that basically gives Ripley a cameo role. Hicks and Newt taken on larger roles. I prefer his scripts to the one filmed.

There were a few scenarios they ran through. They first were announced in the Alien Quadrilogy box set (f*$& the "Alien Anthology" and their blue ray bull s*$&%, Quadrilogy came first!).

One of them suggest they land on a wooden space station which had nothing but amish style religious fanatics, which they were really working on until it got too complex and they came up with the prison.

I personally feel like Aliens needs that medium of horror and action. It can't be just one or the other. - Most of the books do a good job of this, they just get too crazy in blaming the Company for everything and making dumbass hybrids, clones, and new aliens.

The book I just read was excellent although I was saddened and delighted to learn that it was the last of a new trilogy.
