Forget the Posleen...Zombies are where its at!

Post by pants » Mon Dec 01, 2008 10:12 am

Ok I'm going to run a Zombie game over on a forum I run.  Currently I have a name for my game but no actual idea about what it should consist of.

The name is 'Zombie Wars - Operation Headshot' but apart from that pretty awesome name I'm pretty unsure about where I should go with it.

I'm thinking maybe a military type campaign against zombie hordes maybe or else I could set it in WW2 maybe?

It would be kind of cool to have a zombie crisis during the middle of WW2...

Thoughts?

Make it a military operation, but I'm already a part of Z.E.R.O. anyway (Zombie Emergency Response Operations). And making it modern means most of us already know what's goin on at the moment. Besides, I lieks me my assault rifles without having to go to Germany (Woot STG-44!).

But count me in. I'll see if I can get Anubis on this!

The last time I played a zombie game with Quinn, we were paying character versions of ourselves, and I was the only one without Firearms skill.

I'll have to see the rules.

Everybodies got a Zombie Plan now-a-days!

I'm still unsure about whether I should base this in WW2 or in a more modern setting.  I'm leaning towards WW2 personally but maybe I could run both at the same time...

I'll post up a link once I've got the game sorted and some kind of rules in place.

If I do run a modern game any particular place you want to see it set?

Maybe Eurasia? Infection could spread pretty quick there, while Japan prevails... :D

What kind of zombies? 28 days later zombies? or zombies of a traditional sense?

I'm going with a combination of both.  When they are initially dead they are fast due to the lack of decomposition in the body then as they decompose (which will be longer than the usual decomposition of a regular dead body) they will start shambling but will still be deadly.

I'm more in favor of the Modern day approach, as automatic weapons rule supreme. Back in WWII, the only automatic assualt rifle was the StG 44, carried by the Germans. (The Japanese had a sub-machine gun, but it jammed a lot and was never passed beyond the proto-type phase).

Everyone had their own Submachine Gun. The American's had the Thompson, the British the Sten, the Germans had the MP-40 and -44, and the Russians had their weird one...

But modern would work better for a lot of people, instead of WW2 where it's only history buffs.

Yeah I figure I'll run both games and get to try out both versions of zombie fighting!

Private since you were the first to say where you want the game set I'm going to set it in Eurasia.  Have the infection kick off in China and then spread outwards from there.

Players will be from a multinational force set to try and contain the spread of the infection.

Anybody still playing Urban Dead?

Decided to check out Urban Dead, found that it's pretty interesting. Name is Sixtus Quinn, and I'm in the Dulston suburb, holed up in the Muirhead Avenue Train Station. We have a lvl 45 in the house, so we'll be okay for the time being.
