So are people interested in setting up a dedicated IRC channel for us to chat about the game?

I'm interested I think it will deem useful to us all.

What is an IRC Channel? International Reserve Channel?

Private I'm not sure if your joking or not but I'm gonna answer your question like you're not joking.  IRC is a chat programme that people use to talk about all types of subjects, although most of them seem to be about porn.

Nick I think you should set up a channel even if its on a free server that we can all get to.

If one does get put up I vote it's put on EsperNet.. because I'm already there all the time anyway.

I never really used IRC but it looks like it will be helpful.

I don't know about helpful cause last time I was here and we had a chat programme all Jocke, Astro Boy, Pale Rider and Nick used to talk about was Porn.  They are directly responsible for my lack of innocence.  For shame.



However it would be cool to chat to people if they are online.  I for one believe it builds team spirit, plus it also allows us to swap lies about how cool we are in Real Life.  I'm actually a Ninja Pirate in Real Life, but don't ask any of my family or friends cause they will just deny it.  Those damn liars.

MWNF do you need to do anything to get access to EsperNet?

It's probably already in the server list for most irc applications, and if it isn't then I can get the info for you to add it. The program I use is the plain ol' "mIRC". Which you can find at www.mirc.com it's free, but after your "trial" period you'll have to wait a few seconds to click the "continue" button at the part where it's saying "OMG PLEASE DONATE/REGISTER". You don't have to though.

Ok sweet.  I shall check this EsperNet and see if I can make a channel.  I need a channel name though - UCSM sound good to everybody?

For some reason everytime I try to use my IRC programme my router stops working.  I don't know why and it makes me frightened.  Until I find and download another IRC programme there will be no IRC for me.

If you go to the espernet website (probably esper.net or similar but I have waaayyy too many windows open to look for it) there should be a browser based irc client so you could just log in through there. I'm sitting in #USCM on Espernet right now kinda "reserving" it. I'll probably just try and register it later so we don't have to worry about it.

Then again.. Maybe we should register #USCMRPG? Just incase anyone from over at Aliens Legacy wants to use #USCM (Since just plain "USCM" would be more fitting for them).

Maybe I'll just register both.. Either way, I'm sitting in them with ops right now, so we won't have to worry about anyone else getting the same idea. Since they can't register it while I'm in here.


EDIT: Might want to google for "Xchat" too. That's another IRC program.

Ok I'll try that and see if it works.  As for registering a channel might be an idea to run it by Nick first.  No-one wants to deal with any DOOMDICE!

This is true.. Nick? Thoughts? If I go ahead and register it I'm pretty sure I can just transfer the ownership of it over to someone else.

Hmmm I tried to use the Java applet at www.eper.net and my router died again.  I need to find someone who knows whats going on to fix it for me.

Or I could just keep doing what I'm doing and hope something works!
