When we go on training missions and do war games we usually train with Marines. They use SESAMS, Special Effect Small Arms Marking System, and it's simunition. It hurts something fierce, probably about as much as Airsoft. But paintball feels like someone punching you, and i'd rather have the punch than a bee sting...

Pain's the best teacher of all, eh? And it doesn't hurt as much as a bee sting. Just stings a little.

Last time I played paintball my friend got shot in the neck just below his helmet guard, left a lovely bruise. Then another friend of mine decided to take a piss about 20 metres away from the marshall and the other players during a break in between games. The marshall spotted him and then told the rest of us to let him have it, naturally he got shot at least 20 times in the back! I came away pretty lightly in comparision with around 10 assorted bruises on my body.

That damn Simunition does. Hurts like a mother. Because it's like paintball except fired from conventional firearms and wearing only eye protection...Lmao.

And ya gotta admit Dugan, it feels pretty good after awhile. The bruises. Depending on where they are of course. Lol. I'm probably just crazy.

I'd say you are. I'd take simunition over airsoft any day because of the comparative ballistics between the two. In airsoft, best range you're going to get is maybe sixty to seventy feet. After that, you're not sure what you're hitting.

Simunition uses a 9mm base and speeds, unless they decided to go with the newer frangible stuff that can be adapted to almost any round. But also, you tend to aim for center of mass and the sights on your rifle will actually put the bullet on target. Not the same thing with airsoft or paintball.

I have no idea what Simunition is but it sounds cool. I've been shot a bunch of times with paintballs and they do hurt but most of the time its been at a distance and the air pressure in the guns isn't as high as it could be so it hasn't hurt as much as if it was point blank and in the nutsack.

Amen. And yes, they use 9mm stats. Safer and you can get it with it and only leave bruises. I've had it break skin but it is rare because you're usually in full assault loadout. It's about as realistic as it gets short of using real ammunition. Lmao. 'Course that'd be extreme training. 100% Washout rate!

Ballistics for 9mm are correct up to 25 meters with that ammunition which is well within what most police firefights occur.

Hey Nick are the Swedish police regularly armed when they are on patrol?

Here in NZ only certain members of the Police are armed, primarily the Armed offenders squad and senior officers. They are trialling tasers over here but I'm not sure if they have decided to bring them in on a full time basis or not. I should probably check up on that in case I have to do a runner from the cops!

Yeah all Swedish police must carry a service pistol (We use the P225, P226, P228, P229 and P239 models in 9mm from Sig-Sauer) when on duty.

For ammunition we use the Speer Gold Dot hollow point ammunition since 2003.

Is one of those riot cops you Nick? I hope you smacked somebody in the face with a baton! ;D

On topic Airsoft sounds like a pretty cool game but probably currently out of my price range at the moment.

No, but I look virtually the same though our group has a different symbol on our neck shields.
