Turn 1. All in a Marine's Life

Post by Pale Rider » Fri Jan 04, 2008 5:16 pm

The MP’s arrived in the showers on board the Costaguana. They were evidently reluctant in performing their duties, but they had a duty to perform. Approximately fifteen minutes had passed since James Screaming Eagle had laid out his senior officer Captain McCoy. There was no complaint from the young man as handcuffs were applied and he was led from the Marine’s Barracks on board the vessel. A simple look of satisfaction could be seen across his face as he was led away. He had done what he had done due to one fact and one fact only. The men of the Easy Eights, his men at the time, had been thrown to the proverbial wolves. It had been to almost pleasant to feel his hand striking the smarmy Captain’s face and feeling bone crunch under his knuckles. He was not a violent one on the whole, but then again this was the life he had chosen and the career he was eking out. He smiled quietly at the men of the Easy Eights as he walked through the door and into the hallway!

Turn 1. All in a Marine’s Life

Dirk slowly walked from medical to the showers. It had been a hard fight. Haveing to shoot a fellow Marine was the hardest thing he ever had to do, but he hoped if the rolls were reversed that someone would do it for him. He started to take his dirty uniform off when he saw the MPs pass by him with James Screaming Eagle in cuffs. As they passed Dirk looked at with a half smile " We're all behind you, stay strong " He siad , but the look of satisfaction was all over Screaming Eagle's face so staying strong didn't seem like a problem for the Marine.

Once they left Dirk showered and put on a fresh uniform. Walking back to the squad bay, Dirk took out his data PAD and started a letter to the woman he had met on leave. He started the letted a dozen times always unable to put into words what was happening out here. He gave up and put the PAD back into his locker. He walked to the chow hall to grab some coffee and see who was there.

Leaning against a hallway wall and smoking, Jacob watched Jim be led away. He nodded and saluted out of respect for what he'd done and resumed smoking.

Caught in a coughing fit he doubled over for a moment, wracked with pain. Before straightening up.

Taking another drag he let his mind wonder...which planet next - what other hellholes could the die on, could any be worse than that ship and those creatures...

He smiled quietly at the men of the Easy Eights as he walked through the door and into the hallway!
Bojan smiled back as Screaming Eagle went past; he was a good man and Bojan hoped he'd come out of this alright.

He just wondered what type of shit they'd get into this time.

Eric watched as Screaming Eagle was led away, and nodded at him as he went by.

He went to the locker room and changed out of his armor and put away his weapons. He took a quick shower to clean the filth and blood off of his face and body. Then he got dressed and went into the mess hall, and walked up to Quinn, the new medic.

"Hey buddy, would you mind checking out my mouth? I bit another hole in it." he said.

When Sixtus looked at his face, he saw that it had spattered pockmark-like holes across the lower half, but on close examination they appeared to be chemical burns. His nose was broken at least twice, and his cheeks were scarred and had scabs on them.

Dirk got his coffee and drank it slowly. Looking around he saw a few new faces. New? he laughed at him self for a moment. He remembered when he was brand new and that was not too long ago. The Xeno planet was his first battle. At the thought of the xenos he reached up and felt the right side of his face and neck. Both had been misted with that damn acid blood along with his hands and forarms. But then again almost everybody got alittle.

He saw Roberts walk in and go to Quinn, the medic. He's a good guy that Quinn he thought as he walked over to them. Seeing that Roberts was bleeding from his face.

"Damn Roberts." He said with a laugh "Did you bite another hole in your face?"

Looking at Quinn "Hay Quinn. Don't bother fixing his face. He'll just bite through it again on our next op" He said starting to laugh a little more

He was no where to be found when james was escorted out by the MP's. Jackal was lying in his bed wondering why it escalated to that point of snapping on a captain. He scratched his cheek from where the butt of the rifle laid comfortably when he fired on his fellow comrade. It didn't bother him so much that he killed him. It was the fact that it came down to it. He dosed off for a quick minute before sleepwalking his way through the aroma of the coffee. When he took a sip, from the fresh hot brew it awoke him completely.

He looked over at smiles sitting eased up against the wall smoking a cig. Then glanced at Dirk who was socializing, and turned to Hicks who was badly scabbed across his cheek. Looking around he caught his reflection in one of the windows. Seeing himself still dressed up for combat, he made his way to the locker room.Exactly 10 minutes later he was back in the mess hall with his coffee still in hand and ready for a refill, and all cleaned up. Fox pulled back out his little notebook with his pencil and began writing in it once again. He started on a picture, and then a series of little comic strips afterwards with very detailed drawings in it.

A smiling sensation came over him we he flipped back to the previous pages in which he had kept somewhat secret. Possessed look came over his face when he stared real hard into the picture, like he had an idea or inspiration. He went back and forth between that page and the comic pages. It was like he was incorporating it into the comic. fox didn't realize that if people looked at him now, it would decisively show that there was a demon like presence within him.

Bojan walked over to the relaxing Honeysett. "Any news on what's next on our agenda Jacob?", Bojan asked while scratching his left palm. "Hopefully we won't get sent up shit creek this time"

Looking round at Bojan. Jacob dropped his cigarette and ground it out under his boot.

"I haven't got a clue I'm afraid...I'm hoping we're gonna be given a mission in paradise where there's one bad guy with a toothpick who wants to surrender..."

As James was escorted past, Jonsson snapped into a salute, the least he could do for the man who had earned his respect so quickly, something he had come to view as nigh-impossible.

As James disappeared, Jonsson turned back to the other marines, and caught the conversation about Roberts. He grinned at the man, the old scar tissue on his cheeks stretching unpleasantly. "Hah, you're starting to look as bad as me," he said with a slight wheeze from his lung.

"Haha, but with me it's my own fault mostly!" he laughed. "All these except the burns are my own fault. The bites are all from the stress of the workplace. And what used to be a nose was destroyed 'cause I carried too much weight on the first mission."

Then he raised his voice a little so that everyone could hear him. "Ya' hear that new guys? Don't carry too much weight on missions, unless you want your nose to look like this!" he pointed at his bent nose and grinned.

Quinn inspected the burns inside the man's mouth, looking them over carefully. The flashlight played around inside the man's mouth.

"Marine, these are some bad burns." he stated simply. "If you're lucky, I can keep you in the Corps. Where did you get these?"

When he heard about Screaming Eagle being taken into custody, he sighed. "That's what happens. He'll get caught on Articles 88, 89, 116 and 128. Straight to a Court Martial, do not pass go, do not get an Article Fifteen. Unless he has some serious pull high up. He might get off on the fact he just came off a drop. I think it's in the UCMJ about the first twenty minutes after combat or something... But the Captain is gonna catch hell in the form of Article 133. Don't want to be in their boots."

Seeing James bring led away Con nimbly dodged the armed escort and gave James a pat on the back, yelling "good on you mate" before being pushed away.

Turning with a smile on his face Con walked off to find somegthing to eat.
