Thirty minutes into the job, the barricades were in place and the Sentry guns setup in the position the Marines needed them. The thick resin like substance continue to grow until the Marines could no longer tell the organic from the inorganic. Leathery shapes began to appear in the mists, some appeared to be mushroomed out like the petals of a flower.

Scanning the walls, the marines begin to see Humans that had been completely encased in the resin, their chests splayed out much like the leather barrels on the flower. Before the motion detectors can even begin their tempo the sounds of clawed feet scurrying in the shadows can be heard.

"Shit... we got contacts!" Ward announced, looking around for any hostiles nearby.

His adrenaline was now pumping. He was both scared and nervous. He was in the belly of the beast, so to speak. The last thing he needed was to get grabbed by his feet and dragged. There would be no way in hell his platoon would find him. The people encased in the resin were eerie. Most of them did not move. They were dead. Upon Ward examining the bodies a bit, a thought popped into his head.

"Guys... these people... they have holes in their chest... something came out of them." Ward announced, the looked at what appeared to be petals of a flower or something."

Ward primed his weapon and kept scanning. There was nothing on IR yet he could hear the scurrying of their feet. They were around there somewhere. He had to find them. Somehow.

Fox eyed the pods. He watched them. Then the sound of claws hitting the ground made him jerk his rifle to where the sound was coming from. He didn't mind the spit from Morrison cause fox would just return the favor.

Check the motion trackers. We have in coming bogies.

Erika listened at all the conversations on the radio and started praying in her mind.

She was posted as ordered by Dugan and she was ready.

The fact of praying, helped her to calm down.

Tyler walked into the room with the other marines. The first thing confronting him were the strange oval shaped things in the ground. They looked almost like..... eggs. He felt extremely uneasy knowing one of those fuckers could jump out at any moment. He then looked up and around the room, and what he saw on the walls caused his heart to drop.

They had found the missing station crew, their limp bodies eerily cocooned up against the walls, each with a gaping hole in their chest.

He was speechless. He never thought of something this horrific ever being possible. But the clattering of something moving in the darkness caused him to snap out of it.

He immediately whipped up his pulse rifle brought it up to his shoulder, looking around for what had made the noise. He scanned around the room, with the help of the infra red and motion tracker. Then, Tyler came up with an idea.

"Hey, anybody got a flame unit? El tee, can we get someone to torch those eggs shaped things and clear a path?"

Alright Erika, but i stand by what i said, i want you in the infermary, and we still gotta let command know about this whole ordeal

Morse then sat down, the barricade was to his back. He took his helmet off. His blonde hair was now visible for the first time in a long time, but wrapped around his head was bandana, which was really a small flag of the Lone Star Republic of Texas. It shouldn't have been a real suprise with to anyone, he spoke with a southern accent, and was very proud of where he came from.

He lifted the Texas flag bandana up a bit, and whiped the sweat of his forehead.

His arm at his side he felt his medical bag, he looked at it and thought, what would he do, if they all came back injured, and if they had bugs chasin em down. What would he do, would he drag as many as he could out. How could he fix em all.

But he quickly shot that out of his mind, and just kept sitting there

Petrova, ya see anythin up there

Simovic was nervous as hell he had a very bad feeling the others were walking into hell and wouldn't be getting out alive. He'd wished they'd had gone with his suggestion and let his men draw them out with a hit and run strategy instead of trying to face them head on. Shit Morrison was either one brave mother or had a death wish...

"Keep your eyes peeled we will potentially have Xeno's and Marines streaming through here any minute. Deploy all of your M94 flares light this tunnel up like the forth of July, that way we're have a better chance of picking our targets".

Simovic lit his remaining three flares by striking them on his Pulse Rifle, he then chucked them towards the front of the barricades. Then crouched behind the barricade peering through the iron sights of his rifle.

"Doc Morse, I will do whatever you wish me to do as soon as we will be back. Do not worry for me, in addition a smartgun is more than needed now, we cannot reduce so much the firepower of the group. And if I buy it, we will be an happy family in the hell" grinned Erika.

Dirk tag was around her nick with her own, and she remembered his smiles and the warmt of his hug. The sound of his heart while putting the head on his chest...

Morse stayed sitting there for a second. Just kinda of staring blankly behind them. He could see the little red dot on the sentry gun blinking, and watched it as it swivled, from left, to right, and left again. Kinda relaxing when he thought about it, even though the robotic gun could tear him in half by firing just 2 rounds.

He heard what Erika said about the need for fire power, and what if she died

Such happy thoughts you Morse said sarcasticly
<tag Erika

Morse just sat back, his helmet was still off and sitting next to him. He had been sitting there for a while, it was time for him to get back up. He grabbed his helmet and put it back on. He secured his Medical bag, back to his side. Then grabbed his M41A pulse rifle, and brought it back up.

Finally he sat back up, he felt better. The others should try that, a nice relaxing short escape from reality. He turned to be in a ready position at the baricade. He didn't see anything, or anyone.

He heard Simovic's request the throw flares out. Morse only had 2, he hadn't thought to grab any before they came back.

He threw one, then threw the other.

All my flares are out
<tag Simovic

Morse then was crouched in a ready position at the baricade, the flares made it easier to see, but there was nothing there to see.

"Don't get close to those eggs" Morrison motioned towards the oval shapes barely visible in the mist "'cause that'll end your day in the worst way, Marines. If they start opening up, just shoot the shit out of them, and quickly too." Morrison spat at the floor.

A quick glance at the walls showed that this was the spot. Morrison hoped that there was atleast one or two fellow Marines still alive down here, although he doubted it.

Last stage of the infection.... he thought to himself.

"Corpsman! Check out those bodies! Ward! You cover him!"
