Turn 2 The Journey Begins

Im Pfc Ronald Green (dunno what pfc stand for...) and dont worry about the landing crap, only shakes and stuff.
Landing? This whole time, Joe had completely forgotten about the landing. He hadn't been worried, but now it became something else to worry his mind.

"Uh, Thanks. Just shakes and stuff... Got it. But, um, don't you get nervous or psyched up before a mission? I just can't imagine being so calm..." Joe's voice trailed off feeling that his questions were irritating Green.

"Alrighty, you" Con said pointing to Joe "you take the flamer unit for now but be careful cause it probably means you will be walking ahead of the squad if we are in enclosed areas.
"You got it," and Joe took off to fetch the flamer and hustled it back to the APC. Now Joe was equipped with the Platoon's sniper rifle and his squad's flamer unit. Joe had become very valuable very quickly for a new guy. While he wasn't all that excited to be on point for his first mission, hopefully he would find comfort in the big torch he carried to light the way.

Altair was seriously worried, Khan was having doubts of his own if he had just turned into a murderer for hire. God only knows what wrong with the rest of this bunch..

"Look Kid" TK finished strapping in the sentry guns. "These guys may be some salty dogs, and Im more than sure they've seen the darker side of Hell , but they don't look shooken up" Tarik lit a cigarette and took a long drag and put his hand on his friends shoulder "Their pros kiddo, one day you and me will be scaring the hell outta some rookies with our battle scars..." he took his hand off Altair and took another drag off his cigarette.
"They just want to be prepared for anything..they've seen combat they are survivors..hence all the extra fire power.." TK smiled to reassure his friend. "Now get your ass in gear kid, we have a paycheck to earn". Tarik grabbed Altair's helmet and gave it a friendly shake Come on kid, get your head in the game...

TK knew Altair was a smart one, and he was most likely right about what was going on. Tk only had paid attention to the briefing. Tk wasn't just trying to reassure Altair, he was trying to reassure himself. Tk hadn't been in the shit before but he agreed with his Squad Leader, two APCs and more sentry guns would definatly give us an advantage. TK liked his knew squad leader from what he knew of him. He seemed knowledgeable and TK understood his initial assholeness. New recruits straight out of boot? Who knows if their going to fall in line or be rebelious little fucks...

Tarik Finished his smoke and rubbed it out on the doorway to the APC as he got in.

Not anymore, I seen the worst... Seriously *Ronald smiled briefly at Joe and laughed a bit but briefly, like he had to force it.* You see, you dont need to fear modern technology failing, you just need to fear the people and things trying to kick your ass.[/quote]

Something about the way Green said it made those words hit home. Joe couldn't even bring himself to return the smile or join Green in his forced laugh and break the tension. His mind raced wildly trying to make up the awful sights that Green referred to, but consciously Joe realized that nothing he could dream up could possibly compare to the reality that these veterans, especially one like Green, had experienced.

Climbing into the APC, Joe swallowed hard. He had a found a new confidence in the drop ship, the APC, and their soon-to-be landing. There were bigger things to worry about. Joe started to realize that the only thing he could count on was his gun and the soldiers around him. Though he wouldn't wish it on anyone, the fact that Green had seen ‘the worst’ could be the experience needed to mean the difference between their living and dying.
