"Wow, what a storm!" Jonsson slammed a fresh clip into his rifle, then braced himself by the door, waiting for orders and ready to help Khan's squad however he could when they got to them.

"Hay Con, Looks like the ride I had comeing has to get Khan's squad. If the other squads keep pulling out we are going to get cut off from the APCs. If the drop ships are comming we could hitch a ride with one. They wouldn't have to land and we could cover the rest of the fire base falling back. What do you think?"Dirk said while loading one of his last two clips into his smart gun.

"Consider it done." Morrison said grimly, as he passed one of his spare magazines off to a marine in need.

Going over to the Dropships frequency, Morrison simply said: "Dropship Zero One, this is Easy Eights- we are overrun and in need of immediate pickup. Location- just keep an eye out for purple smoke. Over."

He then drew a smoke grenade from his webbing, making sure it was purple, he popped it, then threw it to the side.

"Just hang on, people! Pickup is on the way!"

Protocol be damned...

Khan did as he was told, he had tried to as much as possible, he certainly would have a few visits with the Psyciatric doc when he returned to base. Mentally he was starting to breakdown...the flashbacks...the suicide..the killer bugs...the conspiracy...nothing had made much sense to him, and he was having trouble with all of it.

Eric drove the APC up behind Khan's squad. "Guys, open the door!" he shouted back to Simovic and Jonsson.


He switched the frequency to Khan's squad. "APC's here and ready for pickup boys, hop in."

"Shit, I'm out!!" Dirk said as he unhooked the smartgun and let it fall to the groung at his feet. In one quick motion he started fireing with the M-41 he picked up.


"Whats the ETA of those dropships? Because if it isn't soon then they shouldn't bother! And I don't want to lose all those beers you owe me!"Dirk said with a smartassed grin on his face.


"Fire in the hole!!" Dirk said as he launched a grenade into the alien hord

Standing right behind Eric's seat in the APC.Already here Eric.


Fox went back down to sit in a seat. He zoned out on that events that happened prior to this. Grabbing his M4 and hugged it tightly around him with a sense of pride.

"Ok Eric I want you to head towards the main doors, for now, I'll man the weapon systems". Simovic jumped into the seat on the TOC and started arming the turrets and forward guns.



"Khan what do you think? Head towards the main doors and try and slip out hopefully unoticed or ram through the wall breech? Also any idea where Bojan is? Without him your now in command of this Section."

"These APC's are tuff as nails...but I wouldn't want to risk disabling it by smashing through a wall we could go around....not if we don't have too...Head for the Main Doors. Someone Get on the Horn and Find Bojan see if he's in the other APC or needs pickup Everyone else Strap in..." Khan sat down at the monitor station and began trying to turn the APC to Bojan's Helmcam.

"Ok, affirmative Khan. Huey try and get hold of Firebase Command and get them to open those doors".



Simovic then spoke into his headset.

"Bojan do you read me? We are about to head out of the firebase in one of the APC's, do you need pickup?"




Simovc stood next to Tarik using the tactical operations centre controls to line up the main turret on the door way.

"If we get no reply I can always blast us and entrance!?"

"Let's do it......Dugan..blast the wall it's not as reenforced as the doors, I'll keep tryin to contact the other APC's as well as our transport. Stay close to the purple smoke Morrison laid down that's our signal... BRACE YOURSELFS FELLAS"

Eric tried to sort through the conversation in his mind, then gave up. "Khan, Simovic, I need direct orders. Where do I go Sirs?"

"Damn it!!! Con, Request permition to tyr to get to one of those APCs. I think I can make it. I'll go over there and grab one and come back and pick the squad up!"


Dirk looked over at the APCs. He hoped that Con gave permition soon because the xenos were getting kind of thick'

Bojan had zoned out from what the rest of the platoon was doing, though he had still been firing in short aimed bursts. His mind had wandered to thinking about other things while he was on autopilot regarding the combat situation.

"Bojan do you read me? We are about to head out of the firebase in one of the APC's, do you need pickup?"

The crackle of the comms brought his concentration about the battle to the fore. He looked around to check that nothing important was left behind, ordered a general fall back and replied, "A lift would be nice thanks Dugan". Bojan headed to where the APCs were.

"Con, we're ... bugging out. Let's get retreating." Bojan hoped him being facetious wouldn't annoy his men in the current situation.
