Turn 21 pt 2.

The hatch literally desintergrated as the breaching charge exploded in a white flash and accompanying bang. "Go, go, go" Someone shouted and within five second all of the Marines had made entry.

A small flight of stairs led down in two sections with a small plattform between. Gagarin moved first, sweeping his Smartgun to help the Targetting computer to sweep the area in front of them. Pvt. Bojan had the queue and slowly checked their six every few meters. It was pitch black and they carefully had to feel their way down the stairs, the light coming in from the hatch was just enough to see the contours of the man in front of you.

Every sound seemed to multiply by a thousand, a small screw bounched away over the floor. As far as the Marines where concerned it might as well have been a Safe that rumbled away from them giving their position away.

Gagarin reached a door. Light seeping in from around its edges. The faint light fell on Morrisons face and he nodded to open it. The door opened with a small creeking sound and a broad hallway opened up in front of them. Marble clad floors and white panels in the roof. Green plants every two meters. The light was white, almost blueish. In the end of the corridor, perhaps twenty meters away, furniture had been stacked in an ad hoc barricade. Behind that barricade three people had taken cover with their automatic weapons menacingly pointing in their direction. As soon as they saw the Marines one of the people behind the barricade, appearantly a leader figure since she had a richly ornamented cloth hanging over her cried hysterically "Kill them...kill them all!"

Bojan moved to an out of sight position with haste, making sure he didn't get in the way of the people in front. He then examined the immediate area closer to see if he could find anything that he could use to obtain an advantage.

His finger squeezed the trigger of the large support weapon and the large gunner had to steady himself as whitehot ordinance started spewing out of the muzzle.
As Gagarin let the weapon roar he took one long stride in throu the door and then one to the left, keeping the doorframe free to alow the other mariens to engage as needed, himself content on laying down a thick carptet of lead aimed at the haphazardly constructed cover that the cultist where crouched behind.

The gyro-stabilized arm of the vibrated from the full auto firing Smartgun. The blast from the muzzle could be felt as much as it could be heard, the pressure drumming both the face and chest of Gagarin as he dealt swift death. The green crosshair of the computer assisted targetting quickly jumped from one assailant to the other as they fell over. Bullet impacts danced over all over the barricade and the people behind it. The full metal jacket rounds having no problem at all to penetrate the make shift barricade the people behind it and continue down the hall without no or little loss of speed. The three cultists might have screamed as they died, but their final cries drowned in the ear tearing metallic roar of the M56.

Five seconds and 102 rounds later it was all over. A strong smell of burnt cordite stung the noses of the marines as they fanned out infront of the doorway. The Smartguns metal ticked rythmically as the metal started to cool down.

"Nice one Gagarin, I just hope all our encounters will be that simple."

Bojan pulled out his motion tracker to see if there was anyone they missed.

"Yeah baby! That's how we do shit!" Morrison shouted to no-one in particular, as he stepped through the door, taking up his 'platform' on the right. Looking at the mayhem Gagarin caused, he breathed a sigh of releif.

"Fuckin' awesome, big dog." he said to Gagarin, flashing the smartgunner a wide grin.

Keeping his M41A trained against the barricade down the hall, Morrison started to slowly make his way towards it. As he heard the ping of the motiontracker, he turned his head towards the rest of his squad-

Oh- Bojan's playing with the gizmo.

"Anything on the scope?" he asked, quickly adding- "we're moving in standard, people- nothing fancy."

And let's just hope what Bojan said was true...

Gagarin looked out over his handywork and sighed to himself as he stated to move forward again.
As he got up to the makeshift cover he glanced down at the bloody and mangeld corpses of the cultists, he shaked his head and made the sign of the corss over one of the bodies as he stepped over it.

"Copy that. Stay frosty and alert, people. Rather them then us, remember?" Morrison said, walking down the hallway, keeping an eye out for anything that looked important, or dangerous.
