AHAHAHAHAHA!

The seven year old boy who always wanted to be an awesome Colonial Space Marine has finally seen his dream come to fruition! I just received my second hand set of plastic Armor. Coupled with my jungle boots, Multicam (screen accurate is a bit tough to get and the only reproer has had to give up his ...

Re: New players/readers!

Welcome Aboard! Well to give you a real world aspect to it. In a military group (Marines for me) its often looked down upon when a new guy ("Boot") comes in all cocky or like a smart-alec. Many of the guys have been around the block a few times, many are combat vets. Usually the NCO's try to tune th...

Re: Turn 6 - South of heaven

Joe found things went from extremely slow to quick and in a hurry in an instant. "Get your asses here right fucking now! Follow me!" He was about to ask Corporal Morse a question when the Lieutenant's voice came over the net suddenly and almost sounded like screaming. This scared Joe. His officers w...

Re: Radio Discipline Callsigns

I'm still not a fan of Echo Eight. I mean I guess it gets the point across. But it seems like Eightball or something else would come across the radio much simpler. Pretty much the less you say the better... One of the important rules of radio comms is that everything you say is clear, concise and mi...

Re: Radio Discipline Callsigns

I would ditch the surname business it was just an example. Essentrially used when no table is established or someone without a callsign.

Re: Radio Discipline Callsigns

Good summary. IMO with the PRC-119s and radio ops they barney it down a lot and this helps everyone understand the setup of a transmission: "Hey you, this is me, this is what I have to say." Three easy to remember parts. As for radio structure, in the Army they usually would use the Company or Compa...

Re: Turn 5 - Archeology

From the way the other squads were dispersing Joe figured that Second Squad would be in the middle. He began carefully and slowly making his way to a position that was even with the other squads but spaced towards the center. Hopefully Corporal Morse would want them there, and since Joe wasn't exper...

Re: Turn 5 - Archeology

Morse wrote:"Just don't shoot nothin' that's us assholes."
The terse instructions from Corporal Morse echoed around in Joe's helmet. Joe knew this would most likely illicit another terse response but someone had to ask it, "Corporal, where do you want us then?"

Re: Need a little japanese assistance...

Hmmm you got me, I have a few friends that speak/read Japanese. I can ask around.

Also interesting you collect helmets thats pretty gnarly. Kinda goes along with my reenacting bit (M1, M1C, M1917A1, "M40" Stahlhelm, FJ Helmet). I'll see what I can turn up.

Re: Turn 5 - Archeology

Joe's elevated breathing was loud in his own ears as he made his way with the platoon. He'd been familiarized in his various aspects of training with the equipment he was using but never had any actual experience in low-gravity or a vacuum. The stuffy claustrophobic feeling at least, wasn't too fore...

Re: Turn 4 - Killer view [updated]

Joe was amazed at the view spread before the platoon. It was one the most amazing sights, and naturally was his first. He was Earth-born and hadn't been a ship baby or from another planet. So this was actually his first view in person of another world. It was a sight to behold. He heard the other Ma...

Re: Turn 3 - Enter light

The locker assigned to Eichler was just the same as any of the others but lacking decoration. He figured he'd put his paint skills to use later and put something nice up on there. As long as the female in the platoon didn't object to it. A moment later his frigid mind had slowly come to action and h...

Re: Turn 3 - Enter light

Joe blinked as his vision swam and everything was a flood of blurred white. Whose idea was it to make this room white with bright lights? The thought hit him as he rubbed at his eyes and sat up, with the feeling in his limbs returning, and his head hurting. Joe coughed as he tried to rid himself of ...

Re: Lurkers Icecream!

Google translated for everyone's convenience, I dunno who knows Russian. Same group did a ridiculous level Fallout LARP. Apparently they have skilled set makers and makeup artists/costumers. I mean at this point you are putting on a movie. The German Shadowrun groups rolled at least a few fan films...

Re: Lurkers Icecream!

No I get you. But the intense stuff for me is the crazy Russian's STALKER/Fallout LARPs. Oh yeah and German Shadowrun LARPs (both of which I think use airsoft :D )... And I've seen some pretty intense fantasy LARPs. But still, its a hobby that evades my comprehension when taken to the sort of level ...
