Posted, details are vague intentionally due to the fog. Just know that you have 20 living crewman and for every 8 hours real time the other force closing on the site will be closer. I am using a 8:1 ratio. You have 24 Minutes before the other group has reached the Village.

Have Fun!!!!!!!!

PS.
I will answer any questions via messages in regards to the Statute.

[flash=]A FEW QUESTIONS?[/flash]

1) Does adding a time frame to the mission for combat purposes enhance or detract from the game experience?
2) Do we need to length or shorten the ratio? Currently the ratio is 1 minute for every 8 hours from the time of GMs Post.

1 - Nothing to really comment on, it's better than waiting around for a week or more but then I'm fairly active in checking the board. Which leads me onto...

2 - Maybe give some more time atm, and give the players a heads up before doing a turn like this. I bet a lot of players only check in about once a week judging by time between posts.

1: Having a time frame does detract from the scenario, because otherwise several orders would have been followed if the players controlling the characters would have posted on time. What this does is throw things into confusion and makes things INCREDIBLY difficult for me as a commander, especially since I don't know if my orders will be received and followed, even if I'm in the same room as the squad.

2: It definitely should be lengthened if it is to be kept, which I'm personally against. A great thing about this game that's kept me in it is that the posting frequency isn't incredibly high.

The only time that I see it being used would be during combat time so that we get a feel for actual time taking place. But if the mass majority veto the use of a time ratio for combat than by all means I will listen to them. If someone knows how to put up a poll on here lets do one.

1) Since I see that the two of the three have asked for a longer time I will change the time ratio to 1:12. Every 12 hours equals 1 Minute at this point.

Well, count me down as another player who is NOT in favor of real time equalling game time in any real context.....with my daughter and a 12 hour rotating shift job; I really only get the ability to get on this site and post 2-4 times a week.

Also; this is probably just a GM'ing style choice; but I'm much more a fan of this being a RPG game on-line vs. a massive joint story writing series. What I mean is; it's not up to us players to decide that our characters' fire-attacks take out 8, 10 or whatever number of enemies; that's up to the results of the dice rolls from our declared attacks. Again though; that's just a personal preference...no matter what; I'm here for the long-haul! :)

I'll play the oppositions advocate just in that I like that it brings an incentive to play. I know everyone has different schedules and things like that, but without incentive I find that player post rate declines significantly. The two schools of thought would be that either everyone is busy at once, or they don't find good reason to post given certain situations (though it could be both)

I like the time frame, but like Colson, I'm able to maintain very strong monitoring rates and post a lot.

- For the sake of it though, I do want to bring up that this isn't the first time we've seen time frames like this, and in a way this seems to have worked. (Though it may just be because this is a very 'action heavy' thread.)

A note on the kills. Those were results of Pale Rider sending us PMs about the results of our actions, not the players making it happen.

For example, the twin-minigun on the APC annihilated twenty-four Huldra, as per the PM sent to me by PR.

Whoops! My apologies; I did not know that those were the results of PMs; please disregard my earlier statement! :-[

Yeah, one thing I hate doing is posting what your character is doing when I can feed you the information so you can do it yourself. I will occasionally do so like I did with the killing of the Alpha because I have a certain dramatic feel for the game that I wish to portray.

Thanks for the concern though.
