I'm also running off of the Aliens Board Game, where if you fire a grenade in close quarters, within 5 meters, you're dead. 12 meters, you're incapacitated, 15 meters and you're wounded.

So Nick, as the overall Admin of the board and GM, what is your ruling on this?

Ruling:
Minor inventions on the part of players are ok, firebombs and other non regulated equipment often is not - thats mainly because that means more work for me as there are no rules for laser swords, muskets or fire bombs for that matter.

People do this for fun and if players, old or new, have a grievance it is better to drag it out in the sunlight and fix it before we have a conflict. I will roll with Sarges post but in the future, all non regulated equipment needs to be OK:ed with me first. I have ok:ed quite a few plausible things in the past, and a firebomb might be ok:ed once I look at the rules and figure out how the hell I am going to roll hit and damage with the all, except easy, combat system Aliens Adventure Games uses.

Okay; I went and dusted off my copy of the Aliens Adventure Game RPG (it was packed up as the Mrs. and I are about to move in a couple of weeks); and it has quite a different take on the blast radius than the wiki says.

As others have mentioned; the wiki states a 'casualty radius' of 5 meters; here's the link:

The Adventure Book seems to have a bit of a disparity between the text in the section describing grenades (Damage out to 84 feet or 28 yards...approx. 24 meters) and the table in the back which lists damage out to 60 feet; or 20 yards; appox. 18 meters. However, the damage and penetration values after 10 yards is very low.

Not sure that helps....but thought I'd mention it!

No problem; but it brings up another question for me.....should we assume that the charts in the Alien Adventure Game Book are "Gospel" and the info on the Wiki should not be considered 'cannon'? I'm pretty sure that's your mind set Nick; but I thought I'd ask to make sure.

The Aliens Adventure Game and movies are what we use as base. All bayond that needs to be cleared with me and the other players, for example in a thread like this.

I hear ya 100% and I am glad Nick was able to find some able bodied folks to help with the game after I had to bail out several years ago!!!!!
