Anytime. I'm Casey. *Accepts said hand-shake.*

That looks good too. But the gizmos I was referring to were like the shoulder lamp, your comset pieces and tracking gear, that sort've thing's included on your body-armor or helmet. And I'd wager a good deal of the weight of that Smartgun's 23 is simply it's ammo. Things looked like a brick that they were inserting into their firearms in the movie.

I really don't mean to sway what you take from your character, or whatever, and I'm totally on the same page with you about average stats, I was just hoping to convince you about the strength one. :P

-=Nods=- Strength's at 14 now, highest I can persuade myself to make it. Any more and he becomes a hulking brute - as counter-character to Dunny as can possibly be. I've run Dunny for...shit, about six years now.

That's true. Hopefully the GM's take pity on my poor back and decide not to throw any more weight at me. ^_^

Looks like we'll probably be placed in the same squad, being the FNG's. It'll be good to have you watching my back. Looks like that brings the detached group up to three. I can probably bring in one of my mates (just had his kidney operated on, so he's bedridden and guaranteed to be active, lol) to bring us up to a full squad.

EDIT:
Y'know, back in my day (old man rant incoming) we used to have names for our squads. Eagle Squad was mine, before they all went inactive, then we had Rhino Squad. I miss those old days. I wonder if I should bring back the tradition of named squads.

Lol, that's horrible about your friend's kidney. But atleast it was operated on, which typically means it's better off than how it was before. I'm not so sure we'll be in the same squad though, for as far as I can tell... the detached is already full, without the assumption of any additions.. That is of course assuming something didn't happen to Casim, Jaydenoff, and Lonebear who already make up the four with me.

I've never even seen Jaydenoff post on here, and Casim's been bickering with our global moderator Dugan, which could go south at any moment (I'm hoping it doesn't) Lonebear still has yet to post, but as far as I know, he's still to be hopping on board with us.

Honestly, I'm super shocked at the influx of new/old players on this site as it seems pretty out of character for this place, especially when boards tend to take a hit in the summer (Though I do realize it's not summer at the moment in Aussie-land). At any-rate, it may be a few, but it looks like the op we'll be wrapping up before long. (Unless something I can't forsee happens.) At any-rate, they'll round up all the interested parties and pitch us at something then.

As a edit: Our guys picked the callsign Streetgang this time, well I think Obi did, so I don't think that it was so much they just don't use animals anymore than it just was they didn't get picked at the moment. (That sort've sounds very crazily fetish don't it?)

Didn't know bout 'Bear and Jaydenoff. Damn, might have to bring some more Outback veterans to even things out...
At this rate, we might even end up with a full platoon going! I ain't seen a full USCM platoon in action since my old Alpha Draconis days.

XD, yeah, the streetgang idea is fuckwin, but I meant on a more permanent basis.

Howdy Darkblade/Sam;

I'm Max and currently I'm standing in for Nick and Dugan and running the game; I would've said "wait until the next mission and then I can definitely bring you in"; but it might be sooner than that, considering that jaydenhoff hasn't said a peep on this site or in any PMs to me as far as I can see. If he doesn't post and or contact me soon; there'll be a spot open for a new player; though I've suddenly got a backlog of new/vets looking to join up!

Anyway, I just wanted to say welcome to the boards; your character looks fine stat-wise (though a word to the wise; I DEFINITELY take note of character's weaknesses and will put them in situations where it will matter, sooner or later. I'm REALLY looking forwards to having some scenes where Charisma comes into play, 'cause half the squad are about as charismatic as a brick!)

As for the backstory; I'll ask Dugan and Nick to weigh in....the only part that I'm not sure about is the surviving actual implantation......and a minor note; I'd change the name of the Austrailian Colonial Marines to just the Austrailian Marines...or Star Marines...or Space Marines....or anything other than Colonial Marines....just to make things a bit more unique! :)

Royal Australian Marines? Hmm...RAM. Ram...I'm kinda nervous about using that if there are any New Zealanders around ;D

I'm entirely looking forward to it, overcoming weaknesses is a big part of character development, and I don't want a 2D Gary Sue character, Dunny's so much more than that - glad we'll get to see his lows as well as his highs.

O_O Good thing I kept my Charisma at a decent number. Needless to say, he lets his sexy accent do most of the talking for him. Heh heh heh.

But before I start to turn this into an old man rant, I'll just say thanks for the welcome - and for considering getting me into Invictus! This news all pleases Sammy very much.

Updated my character sheet to reflect that he's using his combat load for different things:

REASON WHY THE FIRST SMARTGUN DRUM IS MARKED AS FREE:
Combat load has 2x Pulse Rifle clip free, for a total of 8 weight units. That's the same as a smartgun drum, so the first would be free, yes?
REASON WHY THE 2ND SMARTGUN DRUM IS ONLY SIX WEIGHT:
Max said I could replace my VP-70 with another drum - the VP70 ammo is counted in combat load, but weighs only 2 units total, so I just took two off the cost of the next drum - paying for the remaining six outta my guy's carrying capacity.

Also made the armour lighter to make room for NVG's (His eyes) and to lower his strength? Why? He has only just become a Marine himself - he was a pilot beforehand, known for brains and not brawn. Up till recently, physical strength hasn't been a priority, and he's recovering still from months in hospital. He simply isn't going to be that strong.

Made his strength 12 instead of 14 to show that despite this, he's been putting in a lot of effort recently to up his fitness levels. His health has gone down to 6, to show that after fighting off an Embryo Implantation, his immune system has basically died in the attempt - his survival came at the price of his complete and total defenselessness against each and every passing illness - not only that, but his constant visits to the gym are taking a toll on him that he doesn't realize.

He's keeping the smartgun tho - character-wise, it's simply the best gun for him. Lots of ammo (good against numerically superior bugs), auto-targeting (good against hidden foes, and besides, his vision is no longer 20/20), and a support role, which signifies his willingness to back up other people and let them win the glory - he simply is too new to the game to try anything fancy, and he knows it.

That's the last change I'm doin to basic stats - he's now ready to go.
