Closing his eyes and pressing himself firmly against the back of the seat to hold on as the Dropship plunged down into a steep dive, Obi gritted his teeth as the G-Forces pressed down against his body for what seemed like an eternity, when suddenly the pressure was released as the Dropship levelled out. Ugh, I really hate it when they do that. Obi directed his thoughts towards the cockpit, where no doubt the Dropship crew were congratulating each other on how many G’s they managed to pile on for the ground pounders in that last little manoeuvre.Hanson's voice comes over the comm; "Starting our last descent to nape of the earth....better hold on to something".
All right people, Invictus has kicked off; our fellow marines have launched their attack and we'll be touching down in just over a minute. Stick to the plan; watch each other's backs and let's get the job done."
“Aye, Aye Sir!” Obi called out as he undid the webbing harness, standing up he removed the PRC-252 Radio from where it was secured, powered the unit on and put the Radio backpack on, adjusting the straps so it sat high and firm. Gathering up his rifle with his right hand, he held onto a support with his left as the Dropship rocked about the sky in approaching the LZ. M-41A, five spare mags check, four M40 grenades check, five M95 flares check, VP-70 with three spare mags check, two spare radio batteries check, Bypass Kit check. Obi mentally ran through his kit as the Dropship’s engines changed and a slight bump was felt as the craft touched down. Here we go again. Obi thought as the APC’s engine roared to life.
