Ok as soon as Nick is back on here, here'll send me a copy of your character and i'll add you to the roster, which is under the Byron's Bandits link.

As your taking over from as Section 2's Sgt just assume you have been there all along. That way it makes Nick's life easier rather than having to write a reason why Pale Rider left and you have taking over. Just think of it as Pale Rider's chracter has done a 'Doctor Who' and become you.  ;D

Gun Combat covers the following: Pulse Rifle, VP70, Shotgun, SMG and Scope Rifles (but both the ones in the platoon have been issued out),

Special Weapons covers the following: Flames Trowers, Grenade Launchers and Sentry Guns,

The Machine Gun skill is used for the Smartgun (theres still one of these going spare).

Your basic kit is listed here:

Your not going to be able to carry two big weapons.

12 Strength will give you a 'Combat Load' of 20 lbs while wearing M3 Armour. A Pulse Rifle is 11lbs and a Flame Thrower 16lbs. So you'd be carrying to much weight.

The rules sum combat load up as:

The Combat Load is the total weight of weapons and equipment carried by the Character, in addition to Armour worn. Naturally, the stronger  a Character is and the less Armour that is worn, the more the Character can comfortably carry.

You could carry a Pulse Rifle and Shotgun (8 lbs) but then you'd have only have another 1lb to spend on other carried gear. To give you an idea here's some equipment weights.

M41A Pulse Rifle   11lbs
Pulse Rifle Mag.      4lb
M240 Flame Unit   16lbs
Flame Unit Drum     5lb
M56 Smartgun      23lbs
Smartgun Drum       8lb
M42A Scope Rifle    8lbs
Scope Rifle Mag.     1lb
M39 SMG               7lbs
M39 Mag.               2lb
Ithaca 39 Shotgun   8lbs
SPAS 18 Shotgun    9lbs
Shotgun Ammo [8]  1lb
VP70 Pistol             3lbs
VP70 Pistol Clip        1lb
M94 Flares [5]         1lb
M40 Grenades [4]     1lb
M24 Tactical Knife    1lb
Smoke Grenade        1lb
First Aid Kit             1lb
Portable Welder       1lb
Motion Tracker        3lbs
100 foot Rope         4lbs

You also carry gear which you drop before entering combat called 'Non-Combat Equipment', which includes all your gear loaded in your frame pack such as rations, bedroll, canteen etc. You can't access this equipment during combat.

It is a shotgun that can be fired also in semiautomatic.

So either you use the "pump" or you set in the semiautomatic mode.

I've based the SPAS 18 on this gun (I actually used the picture of a SPAS 15), the only difference is that the USCM version can be fired full auto. I bet theres probably a way of changing the SPAS 15 to full auto any how. I remember someone in the Danish army telling me they could change semi auto M1 Carbines to full auto by putting match into the firing mechanism somehow.

The Aliens RPG version cannot be fired in fully automatic and is more or less a copy of that weapon Hicks used. I have not yet decided if You are to be assigned buckshot grenade rounds as they are not in the rules and are not referenced anywhere except in 3rd party fiction.

also...

Dugans site is a great reference, but, all that is listed there is not and will not be available in this game. Partly because some of them don't have rules and others because I don't need them or they don't fit into my view of the game world. Nothing personal against Dugan what so ever, I pick and chose the things I feel fits into my version of the Aliens universe - Just as others picks their.

Thanks Nick

I like talking about weapons and other issues, so I profit.

But you have pointed out a very important thing.

Enjoy your holydays.

I can't process your character at the moment as Nick is in Thailand and doesn't have access to Excel. But if you want just start posting now and assume Pale Riders role (2nd Sections Sgt).
