Combat Load

So, its occurred to me that Mark is weak enough that the standard combat load is over his wight limit. What is the movement penalty for that, I can't quite pull it out of the rules.

Yeah, I think the system didn't take slightly weaker characters into account. Like how my Medical Kit weighs twenty-five kilos, which is WAY over Quinn's combat load, which means I have to drop my main source of healing the squad every time we enter combat. And I can barely carry a sidearm. I don't think I have one in my current kit.

You eject most of what you don't use once you hit combat, keeping only a few key things (weapons and ammunition, then maybe a handful of other stuff if you have room for it).

Number of combat actions (CA) lost:

Over combat load (CL) -1 CA
30 pounds over CL -2 CA
70 pounds over CL -3 CA
130 pounds over CL -4 CA
200 pounds over CL -5 CA

From the book of tables, Table 3D.

Yeah; and another thing to watch for is all the "min-maxers" who deliberately lower all stats except Intel and Agility for increased combat actions and Learning Rolls. For example; most marines are EXTREMELY poor leaders and definitely not charismatic in the least! :)

Note: I'm not trying to call out anyone; Samantha doesn't have a good Leadership score either (kinda why I'm trying to play-up her "self doubting"); it's just one of those things I noticed back when I ran a Mission. It's probably a good thing we don't have anyone with a smartgun right now; as I'm not sure there's anyone really strong enough to use one! :)

The armor for the smartgunners is lighter I think.
