Experience has been added to the roster.

None gained any combat experience as that, according to the rules, requires that You engage and kill 10 armed enemies of the same quality as You or 100 dangerous animals.

To advance in the General Skills You need to have a succesful roll with a succes rating of equal to 8 or below. Over 9 there is no advancement. You then get a learning chance that also have to be succesful.

The following Marines got General skill advancements through succesful learning rolls:

Dugan Simovic: From Expert to Master in Awareness

Octavius Mongo: From untrained to Novice in Awareness

Sixtus Quinn: From Expert to Master in Medical Aid

Dirk Pitt: From Certified to Professional in Awareness

Tyler Ishizawa (I will learn to spell that): From Certified to Professional in Awareness

Ichigo Kurosaki: Goes from Certified to Professional in Com / Computer

Allen Morse: Goes from Novice to Certified in Awareness

Dave Monks: Goes from Novice to Certified in Awareness

Private Patch: Goes from Novice to Certified in Awareness

Jacob Honeysett: Goes from Professional to Expert in Awareness

Thats it.

Next mission pending.

Question
Are the things we got advanced in random, or selected by you?

They are based on a skill which You succeded with a success roll of 8 or less during the mission. You can only advance in skills You don't use by training in between missions. After the next mission, which will be a little shorter than the last one, You will get the opportunity to train Your character in one skill.

Actually in all fairness Nick has been very generous as if your skill is Certified or better to get it to Expert you need to pass two learning rolls and to get a skill to Master three learning rolls must be passed.
