It has been decided to have one Comtech in the platoon, he/she will need to have at least a Certified rank in the Communications/ Computer Repair skill. He/she will also be issued the following extra equipment:

Electronic Lockpick/ Bypass Toolkit,
PRC-252 Field Radio,
Orbital Communicator (for contacting ships in orbit),
M1000 Dual Signal Flare x5,
N150 Smoke Grenade x2.

If you'd like to apply for this position please let it be known here. The person with the highest rank will be chosen. If you are already a Smartgunner or Squad Leader you can't apply for this position.

I apply. Yes, I do wield a smartgun in the current mission. But that wasn't issued to Collins officially. He just equipped himself with it due to the surprising attack of the rebels. So I'd like to step into the position of the platoon's ComTech for the following missions. From my skill-table you can tell that my character was designed for that role in the first place.  ;)

I'll leave it open for a week from when I made the firstpost. Like I did for weapon allocations.

I'm down for being a Comtech but I don't have a the level of skill necessary I don't think.

Yep your right, you'd make the worlds most useless comtech you are untrained in Coms/ computer operation.  :P

I'm ranked master on comtechs, and quite higher rated on the other technical skills (motiontracker and alike)... who can outbid me? :D

Ok Colins looks like you've got the job. I'll make a note of the extra gear you are carrying.

You can find info about all of it on the wiki:

http://colonialmarines.wikispaces.com/Equipment

You need to decide if your be carrying a PRC-252 Field Radio or the Orbital Communicator. As they are to heavy to carry both.

Plus you lose the Smartgun and get a Pulse Rifle instead, again because of the weight issues.

I need to decide? I thought I would have my gear assigned by my superiors for each individual mission. :) Teehee, just keeping it real.
But if that's so I'll gear up on the orbital communicator and the other basic issued comtech equipment.

So I effectively add...

- Bypass Kit
- Orbital Communicator
- M3 Utility Holdall
- Portable Welder
- Motion Tracker (or not?)
- M1000 Dual Signal Flare x5
- N150 Smoke Grenade x2

And swap the entire M56 gear for...

- M3 Personnel Armor
- M10 Ballistic Helmet
- M41A Pulse Rifle (including all equipment/tools that come along with it)

Is this correnct, sir? Or can a special weapon like the M240 Flame Unit be assigned in stead?

That is still the deal around here.

You are the most qualified and You will be comtech for the now being. Next mission we might need You as a smartgunner.

Alas no character classes - just functions for the mission. The functions can change mid mission as well.

This were done by two reasons.

1) AAG have no rules for character classes.

2) Having set positions with different skills were a pain in the ass to manage. We had to recruit specific characters, move around their skill levels if they didn't have what was needed and so on.

Yeah looks good to me. If you want a flame unit, it will be instead of a Pulse Rifle.

I think I'll just choose between a M41A and a M240 before every mission... a flamethrower wouldn't make any sense if Collins knew he'd be operating in a greatly open environment. And if there is a APC nearby he propably could swap his weaponary anytime.

And whenever Collins is armed with a flame unit is a sidearm (VP70) also issued? Strenght is 10, for weight issues.

Yeah everyone gets a VP70 pistol (and Knife) no matter what main weapon they are carrying.
