It seems I made a slight misstake when it came to the avatars. I accidentally leaved the option to upload Your own avatars enabled. Bad move. Originally I had planned for everyone to use the avatars made by me for a uniform feel of the site - Also I had plans to allow Your own avatars, however I would edit them so they fitted the site better.
What we got right now is a mish mash of avatars, some badly re-shaped, some in color, others black and white and the third kind processed by me. Which is not what I had in mind at all - Players have contacted me about it and I agree it looks strange.
So...
I would like to ask everyone of You to select an avatar made in the galleries from now on. If You have an avatar that is awesome and want to keep I will process it for You so it blends into the site better. If it can't be passed for a colonial marine it is a no go. I will let You select a new avatar on Your own, but if You don't change I will change it for You and select the ugliest marine I can find naturally

I have now disabled the ability to upload avatars for all users.
To be extra clear. Yes custom avatars is allowed. But allowing free uploads is opening a can worms and soon we have warhammer 40k orcs and crap in the avatars. Custom avatars can be requested if You are in the player group (not just member of forum). And then You send an attachment with image to me and I edit it accordingly - That way we get:
1. Fast loading avatars, as everyone will just be 1k or below...now 40k that some are now.
2. Uniform looking avatars.
3. Better looking avatars as I will re-size them with the right proportions, not just ax them into the forum regardless how it looks as it currently is.
