Restart
Gentlemen and any ladies present do we need to do a reboot? If so please let me know. It seems we have reached a point where we are closer to collapsing and I would rather give up GM and simply play if that's what we need to do at this point.

Re: Restart
I am still willing to gm I just want what is best for the game. I almost wonder if maybe we should let the Eights take a breather and run a new crew for a bit. We need to do something to breath new life into the game. 2016 marks 10 years the game has been going.
Some ideas:
1. Retire the unit and start fresh.
2. Punt this campaign and start a new one and try to see if we can recapture the pace of the early days.
3. Consider using one of the existing RPGs and their supplements for character creation and storylines.
4. Work out a rotation of GMs if need be to stimulate the game.
Anybody else have ideas that they want to put forward? Ultimately, it all boils down to what Nick wants to do.

Re: Restart
I was asking mostly because, i'd be willing to maybe assist GMing if needed. I'm not really willing to do a lot of campaign creation but i could potentially help with some stuff to keep the pace up if needed.
Another thought, it's probably a good idea to move as many experienced guys into leadership roles within the squads, maybe get someone into a sergeant role. That way if GM posts don't come out quick enough you can just let the leadership players do things like maintain the squad and the sergeant can maintain the leadership and then squadies have things to react to.
I think that'd probably help with the pace of the game.
I seem to remember that was roughly the structure of the squads back when i started and there was good usage. Also as long as you select relatively active players for leadership roles it wont matter as much if squadies don't post as much because you just assume they blindly follow their leaders orders

Re: Restart
I'm still here, I think things drop off because the story is very slow moving. I found things went faster when the GM forces the story onwards. There is only so much a player can post on their own, especially with a player leadership structure.
If I were you I'd start making a point of progressing the mission at least once a week. Use the NPC XO to push the players/squads into action if the squad leader isn't posting.
Either way I'm happy to plod along for the moment.

I am easy with whatever the majority decision is. Personally I'm in for the long haul, so any of the options are fine with me. I like the suggestions above though, especially pushing the GM mission post at least once a week. Currently we are kind of stuck waiting for players to take action and it gets a bit quiet. I really want to shoot something.

Re: Restart
I agree. I think it's up to the GM to push the story along, with or without everyone. As a many-time GM I know this can be hard and is impossible if the players don't have their hearts in it. Luckily here we have a group of players that really care about the game, so even if they are busy it won't really die.
I think that the GM should post every 48 hours or maybe 72 if that's too fast. Find players who consistently post within the time limit and make them officers. And if you can't keep that pace, use a second GM.
As always I am very against starting fresh as I am very attached to my character (who I created during the Bush administration haha)
I think you are a great GM Pale and I will go where you lead. I've been busy with work the last couple weeks but I basically just wait for the text from you then get on and post.
