Leave of Absence due to Inclement Weather

Post by Kurosaki, Ichigo » Thu Sep 18, 2008 10:12 pm

Hey everybody,
Due to the incoming typhoon, (Sinlaku), I might not be able to post here between 1-7 days. Apparently, this storm devasted Taiwan and has gotten stronger on the way to Japan.

Batton down the hatches!

I work for a Japanese TV channel and have been warned it will hit Tokyo tonight, which for me means that I will have a lot of programme schedule changes to do, oh joy!

Stay safe guys.  Remember it's not a good idea to go out windsurfing in a hurricane, just in case you were thinking of doing it.

You should set something on fire exowolf.  That's what I do when I'm bored.

Fire is beautiful.

It's also the reason I'm currently writing this from one of the many Psychological Assessment Centres in my fair country.  I think they are going to let me use crayons next week!*

Kick ass!

Well, since you play/GM rifts, it's only a matter of time. I've never met a "Rifter" that was completely right in the head- sadly I am not exaggerating for some dramatic effect.  :-X

To be honest I'm the only 'Rifter' I've ever met and I'm definitely not right in the head so I can honestly say from my experience of the people who enjoy 'Rifts' are actually a bit touched in the old noggin.

I CAN TASTE COLOURS!  THIS BLUE TASTES LIKE FIRE!

And so on...

On topic though, stay safe those of you currently in the path of a typhoon.

I am back.

All of Tokyo were preparing for the storm, which hit Friday. It was supposed to rain Saturday, Sunday (today) and Monday with about 10 centimeters (2.5 inches) of rain per hour. Coming back from school on friday was scary. I ride the bus home, and it took us just 35 minutes instead of the usual 70 minutes. Nobody was on the highway or on the roads. Walking home, nobody was there. Just for kicks, I went to Shibuya crossing... Only ten people or so were there. Friday night was hell trying to sleep, with lightining and thunder going off every three minutes and the rain pounding on the roof of my wood home (jk). Saturday it veered off (the typhoon did) and Tokyo is safe.

Good to have you back bruv!

So, was is sort of eerie to walk around and have no-one around? Sounds like the first 20 minutes of 28 days later to me...  :o

Glad to hear you're safe dude.

You know that could be a cool idea for a movie, a Japanese spirit starts causing havoc under the cover of a tropical storm.  I mean think about it, all that devastation that people are already expecting and then along comes this vengeful spirit and starts killing everybody off and raising the bodies of the dead to use to kill more people!

Throw in a bunch of teenage kids that try and stop the madness ending in a showdown on one of the city streets and you've got a blockbuster in the making!
