Morse found a set of metal crates, probably equipment haulers but it was to dark to tell. He slung his M41A over his shoulder and began dragging the heavy boxes across the room. Orders were to take and make cover where possible, and Morse was one for doin as asked. It was a hard pull since he wasn't a very big guy, but he got them across enough. Here he noticed one of the new guys talking on the radio.

"Stop talkin on the radio, let the sergeant do that. Stop actin like a mite on a muskrat and start helpin us grab shit!" Morse yelled across to him.

He hated new people, which was obvious. They had no respect for the chain of command nor their duty. Just looking to grab quick experience and get medals.

Morse was still carrying the samples. He remembered when he turned to grab another box to put on top of his other two. He had to stop half way across to take a breathe, and kept pulling. He was set up beside an over hang and across from Erik. His makeshift bunker would help a bit, but they still needed the rest of the squad up the ladder.

"Don't done get alotta choices here, just gotta work with what we have." Morse said back to Erik.

"Maybe the last man out should drop some grenades back down the shaft, maybe get lucky and block it somehow, what you think, Morse, that worth telling the Cpl?"

Erik made a bunker like Morse's, from storage crates that were scattered around, just a few feet away from Morse's stronghold. With interlocking lanes of fire over the elevator shaft. His was 4 ft tall, just tall enough to shoot over and went all the way around with a 1 box opening in the back. Room enough for 2 fire teams within it.

He also stopped every once in awhile to do a quick motion scan.

Like those things are going to be stopped by a few crates.  Obi thought at the futility of it as he patiently waited for those creatures to close.

Morse continued to drag another metalic crate towards the over hang. He understood the given situation very well, but it wasn't his first mission. Even if the mission was very different, the circumstances were still the same. The best thing to do was to stick to the basic command structure, do what was ordered, and don't do anything that you don't have to.

The dropships still up or it aint, makin a call aint gonna make a difference. But there out there and we're still in the hell hill. Now you best set fer the shit, cus the birdy aint gonna save us in here. Morse said back. That was all he had to say about it. His job was to keep people from bleedin to death, not to bicker about policy.

< Tag obi.

So long as i aint the one doin it, it's fine as fox fur. Morse said back to Eric. Generally the one who was last out in this situation would be trapped inside, and Morse had a heavy concept of staying alive.

Dirk's eyes were wide with a mixture of fear and excitement as he climbed as fast as he could out of the shaft back into the dome. He stood and quickly cleared the way for the next Marine. He had to smile as he saw his squad taking charge and getting ready to block the path behind them.

"Once the last man's out of that shaft I want suppressing fire from the incinerator on that shaft. Those things seem to be afraid of fire. Once we do that we will fall back on the double to the last reported POS of the dropship. " He shouted as he checked his M-41A.

Dirk spun around, looking at the dome. The blood that Morse had spotted was sitting on the ground in a large pool. Whoever it was from didn't look like they made it.

"Everyone listen up. The things comming up the shaft aren't our only problem. The LT and the flight crew were hit up here so stay alert for attack from any direction." He said after the thought came to him

"I'm with you on that, Morse. I like to keep my juices in the right place, inside me".

"Yes Sir Cpl". Erik heard his Cpl and readied the flamer and on hearing his Cpl's last statement he did a full 360 scan with the motion detector.

His make shift fort was made as good as he could with what was laying around. He walked over and stood by the shaft by his Cpl ready to do his bidding.

patch kept his eyes on the motion tracker ready to report movement , direction, speed and numbers.
whilst watching he asked over the radio, "anyone found another way out of here?"

(ooc  have made assumption that we are in the lab dome was the only place i could find labeled dome. please correct if this is wrong)

Standing up Obi started to move, pausing as he passed PFC Patch.  "Ok mate, if you see anything on your motion tracker coming in any direction then those things are coming, you give me a heads up, right?"

Slapping Patch on the back and adjusting his floppy bush hat, Obi moved with a grim determination and purpose as he proceeded deeper into the dome, shoulder lamp illuminating his path in the dimly lit interior.  His VP-70 held in both hands, up and ready in the classic 'Weaver' position as he started his search for the exit that would lead the platoon outside.
