Location: CSC Sector, Crysalis, Main Colony, Outside main colony

The Marines of 4th Squad sat tight for a few minutes. Suddenly they heard Pvt Windriders call on the radio about incoming hostiles towards the Mayors house - But part from that and the distant sporadic gunfire from the main colony it was silent.

"Did you hear that, Cpl Pitt?" said Erik "Should we get ready to be their saving calvary or lend a hand?"

Erik continued to search the surrounding landscape for any contacts through the APC's detection equipment.
He kept an eye on the monitors of his squad mates, to see where they were and what they were doing and that Morse was staying out of trouble.
Being passed around the galaxy alot as a kid made him furiously loyal to his friends, when he had them.

Morse heard the radio message and stopped. He then heard Erik speaking. He himself thought they might need to head back. They couldn't be more then 50 feet away from the APC and if there had been someone left out there they would have shot at them by now. But the rest of the platoon was about to get hit by a large force and it'd probably be a good idea to see if they couldn't do something.

I think he's right Dirk, what ever shot at us has been blown to a pile of blood after those shots, maybe we should head back i think. Morse said looking at Dirk.

He then put his hand on his radio piece

You aint seen nothin on the radar i figure right

"All clear as far as I can tell but I'm still being vigilent" Erik replied to Morse.
Erik was waiting on his Sqad Leader to make a decision on what they should do.

"Yeah. Lets fall back to the APC." Dirk said as he backed quickly to the APC's door.

"Erik, open up." Dirk said as he reached the APC

"Sure thing" replied Erik to his Squad Leader's command as he hit the button to release the locks on the doors. "Unlocked. Sounds like the other squads may be needing our help soon"
He kept up a scan on the surrounding environment for threats.

Morse followed Dirk back to the APC. After Dirk entered the APC, Morse entered in as well, closed and locked down the door. He set his M41A on his shoulder, he was tired of walking around with it at the moment. He sat back down in the seat he was at earlier.

"Well that was about as much fun as gettin shot at can be." Morse said somewhat out of breath.

He opened up a cantine which wasn't full of water but full of whiskey he brewed himself. He took a heavy drink, good thing he was the squad medic so he could self medicate with what ever the hell he wanted.

"So what are we doin, we waitin for orders back with Sarg?"  Morse asked Dirk.

"Morse, you fire your weapon"? asked Erik of his friend. "You should top off on any spent ordinance".


"If they send me coordinates and if we're in range, I could drop a few surprises on those vehicles and that hostile group to maybe brake up their attack plan or at least delay them. Maybe give them something to think about."


"Cpl Pitt, You want to ask them if they want any mortar fire support?? Have their squad's sniper light up the vehicles with his special scope and pass the coordinates of the hostiles back to our fire control comp. He tags them, we'll light 'em up.".

Simovic clicked his comms to 4th Squads channel "This is Simovic we've encountered a numerically stronger force of about 30 men and two APC's and will require assistance or a pickup. Start moving towards our location, someone will update you en-route".

Morse was sitting and looked up at Erik after his suggestion. It was good for him to remind him of it, but Morse had another way of doing things.

I don't change the clip after firing a few bursts, longer ya keep a clip in the M41A the less chance it has of jammin. I'll change it out when i have to don't worry bout that Morse replied still leaning back.

He then heard his com activate with the voice of Simovic. He was actually expecting it to come up anyway, since they had the roaming block of bad ass.

Sounds like we gotta get down there in the ass kicker mobile and shred some colony bums. Morse said with a smile. He held a bit of prejudice for colonials.

Erik just stayed on the weapons console and got ready to move out. He kept a watch on the outside surrounding area and listened for any orders that concerned him. He kept all the weapons warmed up and ready to engage at a moment's notice any targets that presented themselves.



He saw Morse sit down in his favorite APC seat and thought "To each his own, he'd watch out for his buddy if he could". He'd never experienced a jam ever from any M41As that he'd handled while being in but he was a shower shoe compared to an old salted boot like Morse.

Erik watched as Cpl Dirk Pitt walked over to the command chair in front of the command console with all the monitoring equipment and displays running, giving the Cpl his situational awareness.

"Should we ask for a SitRep on the other squads positions and orders of how they want us to proceed?, Cpl" Erik volunteered to his Squad Leader.

Dirk heard the call. "Roger that. 4th squad is on the way for a pick up." Dirk said as he got the APC moving towards the other squads.

"Lets move it. Double time. Get this APC to the other squads." He said looking at the driver.

As the APC got moving, Erik kept an eye on the rearveiw just in case someone wanted to try a pop up surprise attack.

But he had to split his attention as he also scanned the path the APC was taking. He slaved the forward turret to the fire control comp with orders to fire on any movement detected that wasn't beeping a friendly beacon.

"Here we go into the fire" Erik told Morse so he wouldn't go to sleep. Morse was looking like he was getting pretty comfortable sitting in his favorite seat.


He also checked his pulse rifle that he had strapped to his back. It was topped off and ready to go. The levers were set to safety and burst. He settled it comfortly back to it's resting place. And started a search pattern with the main rear turret's sensors.

Cpl Pitt, all weapons are in the green and ready to fire on your command. Search mode is active and ready to engage targets as soon as they are locked. Does the other squads want some mortar support to slow the approach of the enemy elements? If so I need some coordinates for the fire control comp to work out a fire solution.

Morse was staring at the other side of the APC with sort of a blank look on his face. He wasn't extremely anxious to be driving to save the others, but then again, he was recognized as a "Support Soldier". He loved the Corps and its lables.

Into the fire? I thought we were already in it.... So where the hell are we goin I wonder? Morse said as he felt the rumble of the APC start moving them. He was bassically as set as he could be.

So whats the plan sir? Drive in their and shoot till things stop movin, or are we gonna lay down supressin fire and have squads 1 to 3 do some kinda jump on the covered wagon crap? Morse said lookin at Dirk.

Erik inserted a safety protocol into the command order lines for the forward turret that it would fix a target lock then track and notify him of the target to be engaged. He had the front turret sweeping it's full firing arc, back and forth repeating. With the back turret he had it swinging it's full 360 arc, searching for targets even air targets.

"Well we're going into a bigger fire this time" Erik replied to Morse. "both figurative and in reality as the town is on fire and burning". As he thought how these hot spots would effect the thermo imagers and the IR sensors.
